I've been working hard on samples for a demo day I've been asked work at Craft World September 10 and 11th but unfortunately I can't show them to you just yet. Hmmm...what do you think that could mean???
I do however have some 'old' cards to show you. Steven was cleaning out the garage the other day and came across a big plastic box filled with cards I had made at least 5 years ago and used to sell in hairdressers, florists and beauty salons. When I was going through them I couldn't help but cringe...I can't believe people actually paid money for them lol!!! Have a look and see what you think...
The sad thing is I probably thought they were amazing at the time lol. They were obviously pre sewing machine, buttons, Nesties and Copics! I think I was using my water pencils and my fancy scissors. Thank goodness for Nestabilities and Martha Stewart lol.
I'm not sure what I'll do with them...I don't even think a charity shop would want them! They did bring back a lot of memories, one being that when I first started making cards almost 11 years ago I could make 20 plus cards a day. I used to work from my dining room and didn't entertain for almost 2 years lol. I would sit until 2/3 in the morning (I was probably waiting for Nicole to come in from a night out) happily stamping, cutting and sticking and now I'm lucky if I can get ONE card made every couple of days and have to be in my bed well before midnight!
I must have 1000's of stamps that don't see the light of day let alone ink. I really do need to do a major clearout which was supposed to be a job for this summer but I just haven't managed it yet. Along with the stamps I have Sizzlet alphabet sets I don't use so maybe 'one day' I'll get it all cleared out and have a sale. I did try and sell some stamps on Ebay a few years ago but it ended up costing me money hmph. I have seen girls sell SU! sets (I've hunners of those!) on their blogs so maybe I'll try that.
A bit of advice before I wish you a great weekend. If at any time you think you need to tackle that 'tash' don't do it yourself...go to a beautician and get it done proper like. When I was removing my makeup last night I had a good look in the mirror and decided the tash had to go so got out my waxing strips, warmed them up in my hands, applied and ripped...and ripped...and ripped. There were a couple of extremely stubborn hairs so kept at it but I've obviously overdone it and I think I've removed some skin too...the top corners of my mouth are decidedly sore and look like I've got razor burn lol.
On that note I'll love you and leave you!
Catch ya later x

I cringe at some of my old cards too, but I took some to a charity shop and they were happy to accept them - certainly there is nothing wrong with them, just different to what you do now!
Hope your top lip is recovering!

LOL - reminded me of when I decided to my tash myself! I put on two small strips, one either side, ripped off the first side and was dancing round the living room not knowing whether to laugh or cry it hurt that much and didn't want to rip the second one off! My hub was trying to get to me to rip it off too and I was just bobbing up and down like some mad woman! Hilarious!! I ripped it off myself in the end but never again!
Some of your older cards are great! And it is good to see how we evolve. I looked in an old scrapbook album the other day and wondered what on earth had possessed me!
Hope you lip feels better soon x
I wish my old cards looked as good as these ones, I found a box full here too and like you I couldn't even give them to a charity shop. They had bits and pieces removed and the rest went to the paper dump:( I have tried numerous ways of removing my mickey but always end up with a bright red upper lip and very sore! There must be a secret too it lol.
Oh Kerry you do make me laugh! Post of picture of yourself with the lip burn,go on!!! Its so funny going through the old stuff! Only teasing! I like some of your little images! Pami x
I think your old cards are FAR BETTER than my old ones! You obviously had a lot of talent even in your early crafting years!!
Perhaps you could wear a false tash to hide the red burns?!!!
Your old cards are better than mine and I agree, I always thought my first ones were pretty good and now I think they are horrid! My hair grows so fast I just take a little razor and shave it off, I only wax the brows but that still hurts like a bugger. I thought you European women just let all that extra hair grow?
HA Amanda...let all that hair grow, that's funny! Maybe since you can't share your cards you could show us your razor burn? : D
I still think some of those cards are cute, like the silhouette dress in white and pink...
Have a great weekend!
I'm seriously thinking of recinding your DT postion Amanda...I'm a home grown North American just like you hmph!!
You are too harsh, your old cards may not be as detailed as your current masterpieces, but certainly still pretty good! Glad to see you will be at Craftworld in September, I was hoping that you would make an "appearance", your brilliant stamps and samples are always on display there, so you had better get cracking at your samples, as there will be lots of new "fans" waiting to be introduced Ladybugcraftsink (we are so spoiled having such a great big crafty shop on our doorstep!) anne p.s. maybe avoid temptation to wax though the night before,LOL...
Kerry I love your cards and I would still pay money for them, not everyone wants all the extra we put on.
As for the tash, it made me laugh, I suppose 'cause I am still embarressed to have one and more, as I "suffer" from polycystic overies, so it was lovely to hear someone speak so openly about it, thank you.
