Memory Lane Road Trip Part 2

Here's another card I made a while back using Frog Chasing Jack. This is when I first tried bunting so it's not got much of a personality ie doodling, shaping, flapping in the wind lol.

The Jack images are perfect for the little guy in your life or even the man in your life reliving his childhood lol.

I'd like to show my card in Make It Monday

It's a great time to stock on on your cling stamps as the 70% discount on cling stamps rages on! While you're shopping why not add a few for a crafty friend? The discount shows at the checkout and you'll see exactly how much you're saving!!

Hope you have a great weekend

TLT - Summer Fun

Hello? Anyone out there? LOL...boy it's quiet in blogland at the moment...I forgot how quiet the summer months get. At least there were over 160 of you still about who entered our Christmas in July Challenge lol. Thank you to all of you and apologies if you didn't receive a comment from one of the Ladybugs. We've all been super busy or on holidays but we try and leave comments when and we hope it won't stop you entering this months Summer Fun Challenge. Before I show you my card I want to remind you to check the Challenge Blog to see if you were a winner of either:

The overall Challenge Winner (£10 voucher to spend in store)
The Winner using an LCI image (£10 voucher to spend in store)
Top 3 Winner
The Blog Hop Grand Prize winner of all 6 Christmas Delight digital images
One of 5 Blog Hop runnersup winners of 2 images of your choice

Really??? Am I really giving all that away lol?? You've got 2 weeks to claim your prizes but once you do you've got plenty of time to spend it :-D

Ok onto this months challenge...yup, you've got another month to be creative and enter our Summer Fun Challenge. Only rules for this one are it's got to be fun and it's got to be summer themed!

Here's my card...you'd better get your sunglasses out lol....

When I checked the theme on the DT blog I instantly knew which image I wanted to use and it wasn't a digi ;-D I feel like I haven't stamped in ages and it was great to get the cling and ink pad out. I stamped Jack and the Worm  and colored him with my Copics before cutting him out with my circle Nestie and sponging clouds to create a sky.

An easel card was the order of the day...I haven't made one of these in ages...they're so much fun :-D

I used Sentimental Numbers for the numerical sentiment adding Glossy Accents to the 8 and you can just about see it on the shovel too.

There's no better time to get Jack and the Worm and Sentimental Numbers than now as the summer stamp sale continue with ALL cling stamps at 1/2 price! Dare I say you could start your Christmas shopping :-O

Steven arrives home today from Spain with his girlfriend for a few days as it's her 21st (note to self, start card now!) on Friday. I haven't seen him since June 28th and I'm sure he's grown in all the sunshine..last count he was 6' 6 1/4" so maybe he hasn't lol.

I've got my Pampered Chef training tonight...I am really looking forward to it though nervous for my show on Monday. I know I'll know everyone there and I'm pretty good at the chat and not a bad cook (haven't managed to poison anyone...yet lol) but this is a whole new ballgame for me. Wish me
luck :-D

I think that's it from me today. Hope you're enjoying the Olympics as much as I am...go Canada...go Team GB lol!!!

Day 9 Reveal

It was fab to have Mary J back as a GD Ladybug yesterday...as always her card was fabulicious! Today is Pinky's turn and I am so excited as I've been looking forward to her Josh since I gave it to her weeks and weeks ago and I know I won't be disappointed...no pressure Pinky lol.

I said I would try and get back yesterday with something to show you but alas my day ran away with me. I do have some brilliant news though...I got my earring back!!!! I had to take it into the car dealership and they took the seat out (took 'em 1 1/2 hours!!). The little rascal had slipped through the track the seat slides back and forth on AND managed to find it's way UNDER the carpet so there was no way I was going to find it!  I can't tell you how many times I had my bum sticking up in the air trying to find it lol. It is now safely back in my ear where it will stay...for now!

Now for my card. I realised I hadn't coloured up a Jack in like forever so when I spied Frog Chasing Jack I set to work. This is what I came up with...

I am really loving this card for a lot of reasons. 1) the image...it's just a typical little boy thing to do 2) the pp...I found a fab new (new to me) digi store called Pickleberry Pop...They have the most gorgeous pp and scrapbooking kits. I've bought a few lines and I can't wait to play....this one is called A Simple Day.

3) It's Twisted Easel card! This was actually the first one I made 4) The bunting...it's the first time I've used it on a card

Ain't he cute?!

I stamped the number 5 from the Sentimental Numbers set onto the pp and cut it out.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cards For Men - Cheeky Chappy
Always Crafting - Anything Goes
Love To Create Challenge - Anything Goes
Stamp & Create - Paper Piecing

I'm at the hairdresser's this morning for a trim and a colour. I'm really looking forward to sitting and reading a magazine or 3...a real luxury these days!!

Remember if you would like to win one of Pinky's images leave a comment on the CHALLENGE BLOG and if you leave one on each of the reveal days post you could be in with a chance to win £15 spend at the LCI store!!!!

Hope you have a great Wednesday

Super quick!

I've NO time to chat....thank goodness you say lol. It's my nephew John's birthday today...he's 28 so do you think this card's ok??!!

I haven't coloured a Jack in in a while (should there be 2 in's???) and thought  Cheeky Jack would make him smile (along with the contents of the card!). I printed the sentiment off the computer...Na-na, it's your birthday John... and on the inside it says...and I didn't forget! Not that I would forget but it gets to the point of trying to think of something to write!!

This is one of the new border punches I bought at Joann's

I'd signed it before I took pictures ... doh!

You can't tell but I put GA on his tongue

So that's it...short and sweet. I'll save any gossip for tomorrow :-D

2 weddings????

What a great morning Nicole and I had yesterday! Not only was it a beautiful and warmish day but wait for it....we found THE dress!! OMG...can't believe it's done and dusted. We arrived at our appointment and looked through all the wedding dresses. Some were stunning and some were, well...OTT lol. They had the dress Nic and tried on on Friday and I picked one, Nic picked another and the lovely lady helping us picked one. She tried on the one she picked and it was nice but I wasn't gaga (not Lady!) about it. Then she tried on mine and it was absolutely stunning. I could feel a lump form in my throat and when the veil went on I'm afraid I lost it a bit....I wanted to bawl  but managed to hold it together by nodding my head and blinking furiously lol. I was like one of those bobbing head dogs in cars but with a quivering lol. I knew then that that was the dress and she really liked it but she tried on Friday's dress again, then the saleswoman's, the 4th dress then mine again and I'm so happy to say she picked mine! I would love to show it to you but Nic's decided only I'm to know what it's like until her wedding. That's the whole element of surprise...the grand entrance of the bride. We're also going to change the order of who goes down the aisle first. Over here (though it's slowly changing) the bride walks down the aisle first followed by the bridesmaids. In NA it's the other way around. I thought it very strange when I went to my first wedding here. I just presumed the bride didn't want any bridesmaids when I saw her first with the bridesmaids following behind her. Not sure the point in that really...the bride really should be making that grand entrance and getting all the gasps...hopefully in a positive way lol.

The other day a friend of Nicole's dropped off some wedding magazines. She was flicking through them when she came across a familiar face...Ryan!! He had done a modelling shoot for Scotland's Best Weddings last year but we never got a copy of the magazine. It was strange seeing him in print like this instead of just the photographs I've shared here in the past.

Here he is....what do you think?

This is one of my favourites

My other favourite

I've never seen him in a kilt before and I think he looks pretty good. I know Ben and his family (the male side!) will be wearing kilts for the wedding and I would love to see Ryan and Steven wearing one too. I think I can safely say Pierce won't be lol.

Finally, I got an email from The Spotted Chick aka Jeanie the other day with a flabulous LCI card. I think you're gonna love it!!!

How cute is this card!! That sentiment is perfect with Cheeky Jack and I might just have to steal  erm borrow it lol. Thanks Jeanie for another flabulous card :-D

That's it from me today. I've got my Zumba dvd on pause so I'm gonna press the play button and have some fun!

Hope your day is as sunny as ours here in Glasgow!

TLT - Lisa's Challenge - Anything but square!

Woo hoo...can you believe it's TLT AGAIN! This year's just whizzing by lol. Before I rabbit on about this weeks challenge I want to thank everyone who entered last weeks challenge and for your lovely comments regarding the release of Baby Baby. Make sure you check out the Challenge Blog to see if you were one of the winners!

It's my flabulous co-ordinator Lisa's turn to pick the challenge :-D All I seem to do is square cards...don't know what it is but I love them but Lisa sent me into a bit of a tiz choosing the challenge - Anything But Square!! Uh oh...this meant I was going to have to think outside the box....outside the box ...get it lololol... square...box...lolololol. Boy I crack myself up sometimes! Anywho back to the challenge....normally I would have done a circle but then Mary J did 3 amazing circle cards for the blog hop so I binned that idea. Tams did an amazing triangle card for my birthday so I didn't want to do that either...she would have accused me of copying her lol! So there was nothing for it but to use my Stampin' Up! somethingorother die :-D

Have a look what I came up with...

I adore Guilty Jack and only had one sample for CHA so decided to ink him up. The pp is Nitwits that Annette gave me for my birthday...thanks Annette!

I coloured the dirt and decided it wasn't dirty enough so added a bit of brown flock to give it a bit of texture. I put Glossy Accents on the J and the rubber of his running shoes. My smallest crystals were too big for the flower centres so I used teeny weeny Papermania shimmer dots.

This is one of my favourite tricks. I wanted something other than a plain button so I grabbed a clear SU! button and punch a circle from the Nitwits paper and GA'd it to the back of the button. When it dried I poked the holes through and threaded some PTI twine through and tied it in a bow and voila...a coordinating patterned button!!

So that's it...I think it still needs something but couldn't decide what...maybe a bit of smudging of the edges? I'm happy enough and hope you like it. Make sure you check out the rest of the Ladybug's creations and leave plenty of love...you know we love to hear what you think :-D

I was busy last night working on the 'uniforms' and I have amazed myself lol. I am over the moon with the way they've turned out. I'm not going to say any more but check in tomorrow and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for stopping by today.

More Jack's and birthday piccies...

Another flabulous challenge week. I know I say it every week but my girl's (not sure where the ' should go if at all to make it plural...anal I know!) done good! Congratulations to the winners...especially to Pami who will be joining us as Guest Designer for two weeks. If you haven't already, check out her blog...she's been making these gorgeous little boxes for Christmas presents and I think anyone on the receiving end of one of these little beauties will be over the moon!

I received a parcel in the mail on Friday from Gaynor and Ann with some more samples. I just love everything they do and they've used one of my favourite pp's. They are so soft and subtly coloured and just so scrumpdillyicious. Take a look....

Embossing the image is just brilliant...I did do one card like this but must remember to do it more often. It adds a bit more interest to the card :-D

Somehow I managed to delete most of the pictures I took from Nicole's birthday dinner on Monday night so this is what I was left with...

It was an M & S cake...it was so yummy and we had no problem finishing it off...the last piece vanished yesterday but not before Suzy Q and I had a piece when she popped in for a coffee :-D

Ruby's getting her stitches out later today...I hope it's not too painful for her. I'm a bit worried as she seems to be favouring her back leg a bit...it sometimes gives way when I've got her in the harness. I hope she hasn't done any damage but climbing the stairs and darting across the room when I'm not looking! I'll see what my local vet says and although Ruby has an appointment next week with the surgeon I won't hesitate to take her earlier if my vet is concerned.

Anywho, that's it for today. I hope you've had a good week so far...TGIF tomorrow!!

And finally....

Before I forget, the last of the blog hop winners have been in touch and picked their stamps and are winging their way to them. One of them went to Israel which was very exciting and a first for an LCI stamp :-D
Here are the last two cards from Gaynor and Ann...I think these are my favourite but don't tell the others lol...

OMG...I want to eat Jack!!!! I love the colours Gaynor used for Football Jack.

Hands up who have made this face at one point in their lives lol {me me me} I love the colours Ann used with Cheeky Jack :-D

Thank you so much Gaynor and Ann for your beautiful samples. I am absolutely delighted with them :-D

Don't forget tomorrow is TLT ... it's Lisa's turn and she's chosen a sketch which has a few of the DT in a tizzy lol. This is what's so great about these challenges...it takes us out of our comfort zone and forces us to try new things. I can't tell you how much Hayley's challenge has got everyone panicking and it's not until October 19th lol.

Hope you've enjoyed Gaynor and Ann's cards over the last 3 days :-D Have a great week.

Bad Hair Day & Queen Whiplash!

I'll address the second part of the title first! When I sent out the confirmation emails to the new DT members I said 'we'll be starting off gently then I'll be cracking the whip!' One of my girls...who shall remain nameless ... decided to have a bit of fun with this and posted something on the DT blog. ANOTHER one of my girls ... who also shall remain nameless...decided to rename me Miss Whiplash!!! We are posting our pictures on the DT blog and a late one came in last night and she was wearing a tiara and looked rather beautiful. My comment then was 'I love the idea of you wearing a tiara while making cards' so now it's all escalated to me being Queen Whiplash and Lisa has now given us all tiara's as we all wanted to be wearing tiara's while making cards lol!I do believe I have picked a great bunch of girls all with a fabulous sense of humour!
On to Bad Hair Day! I thought I would try to colour another Jack with blonde hair...I almost ripped it up but as I left the hair to the last there was no way I was starting over again! The main problem being my Copics and Promarkers bleeding over the lines. I do try and stay as far away from the line as possible but the colour somehow knows how frustrated I get with bleeding and it speeds up and creeps over!!
This is Hide & Seek Jack... I bought this Bo Bunny pp when I was at Craft World yesterday. I thought it suited the image perfectly :-D
There's always one that has to tell...bad owl lol!!

Here's my blonde hair...it's better than it was...hard to believe I know but trust me on this one...but you can see how the colour bled over the line at the top of Jack's head. I used the blender pen to try and push the colour back but it made a bit of a mess so I tried one of Paula's tips putting a 'glow' around some of the image. Anywho...what do you think of Hide & Seek Jack? Another winner?
This next card is from Tams, one of my new DT girls, thanking me for choosing her for my team. She originally tried to bribe me with her ipad knowing I've been wanting one for a while and
although I was extremely tempted I decided I would choose her on her talent instead :-D That's not to say I couldn't be bribed with an ipad on another occassion lol.
I love Catflap Magnum and the colours of pp are gorgeous! Thank you Tams :-D
I'm making a lazy dinner tonight...heading out now to pick up a couple of cooked chickens from Morrison's. Well, I think I deserve to...I did make TWO cards today!! I'll be posting the second on tomorrow and boy have I got a treat for you. Jeanie's last card until she's finished her renovations in November!
Thanks for stopping by...enjoy the rest of your long weekend :-D

{sigh}

Have you ever made a card and without any hesitation thought...love it!!...?? Well, this is one of those for me. I'm not sure if it's the image, pp, colours or all of the above but every time I look at it I have a happy {sigh}. Of course you might not think that lol but that's ok...I'm happy :-D
I bought this Basic Grey pp a couple of weeks ago in Craft World...this was the one that came in 3 colour ways and I had to have all 3! Nothing new there I'm afraid lol. When I chose Guilty Jack for my next sample I thought of this pp straight away. What do you think?
{sigh} lol
This picture is in the wrong order ...oh well. I love making little sentiments and punching them out with my SU! word window punch (I hope that's what it's called)

Do you think Jack looks guilty? Have I miss-named him? I coloured him with a combination of Copics, Promarkers and Prisma Pencils. I added a little bit of glossy accents on his running shoes, the J on his top and the centre of each flower. Of course I had to have a bit of glitter so sprinkled it on the flower centres.

Since I always colour the hair of my images brown I thought I'd try blonde for a change. I don't think I did very well but will keep practising. Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks silly!!

I have one more image of Jack to colour up....make sure you take advantage of the special pre-order price of £5.50 which lasts until Sunday.

I'll be demoing at Craft World on September 4th and 5th so if you're in the area make sure you pop in and say hi :-D

That's it for today...have a good one!

Birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday Ryan!!
Another year another birthday! Ryan's 23 today... where did the years go? The picture below was taken when I was home visiting about 22 years ago. My mom was emptying the dishwasher and when her back was turned Ryan climbed onto the open door ... I wonder if he wanted to clean his cup lol.
And this is him today... would you have recognised him from the little boy above?

I made him this card for today. I know it's not really 23 year old appropriate but this image of Jack reminded me of Ryan.

This image of Jack and his pup will be available this week along with another 2 which I hope to show you later. You will LOVE them!

Jack's little red wagon isn't so much red as orange!

Jack is such a cutie

Pup looks happy enough :-D
We're going out for a birthday dinner tonight to our favourite local restaurant then home for some birthday cake and more decision making! I'm getting there and will have some DT news for you soon :-D
Thanks for stopping by.
