Buttercup

I adore Buttercup In The Dog House...she's just the sweetest pup...apart from Rocky and Ruby of course lol. I love colouring her dog house...not sure why as I can never get a wood look but it always seems to come out ok.

Hope you're enjoying the trip down  memory lane :-D

Sketch Saturday - Week #5

Well today is my last week with Sketch Saturday...trust me to get a 5 week month lol. It's been a lot of fun and has stretched my sketch abilities enormously but I do I think I will try them more often :-D Thank you Jen for asking me to sponsor and to all the DT for the fabulicious makes using LCI images in the first week.

Of the 5 sketches I think I struggled the most with today's. Thursday night I really didn't like my card but after a good nights sleep and a bit of rearranging it's started to warm on me :-D I'm sure all you seasoned Sketcher's won't find it a problem at all!

My SIL in Ireland got a new 8 week old Cavalier King Charles black and tan puppy last week and as soon as Ruby and Rocky heard the news they commissioned me to make a card for the new addition though I really don't fancy a weeks supply of dog biscuits as payment lol!!

When my SIL told me her name I ROFL....are you ready for it....Grace Kelly!!! Isn't that fabulous...apparently it came from the Sex in the City movie where one of the girls called their dog Elizabeth Taylor :-D

Of course I had to use Buttercup In The Doghouse but I removed Buttercup's name and printed Grace Kelly instead... I surprise myself sometimes when one of my ideas actually work lol. Let me know what you think....

As always I colored the image with my Copics and added clouds with a PTI cloud diecut and chalk ink. I had used a plain pink panel and I think that's what was bugging me so I ran another piece of pink cs through my Cuttlebug with a tree bark embossing folder (I'd already stitched the plain pink panel to the card doh) and stuck on top and it definitely made it a bit more interesting.

Translation - Welcome to the family ;-D

And here's the inside

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Day 5 Reveal

Did you see Laurie's cards?? OMword...they  were gorgeous. She used the same Jess image that I did but they looked totally different. Today is Pam's reveal and I did get a sneak peek and you're going to love love LOVE what she has got to show you. Remember, if you want to win one of Pam's images you have to leave a comment on the CHALLENGE BLOG. The good news is the images that have been released so far are now on sale...you can see them here. You can purchase them for £1.75 each or 3 images for £4.50 saving 75p. The Whole Shebang will be available next week...stay tuned for details.

Norma is the owner of Who Let The Dog Out...the doggy daycare that Ruby and Rocky go to. Sadly she had to put her dog Zack to sleep last week. I wanted to make a card for her but I've never made a pet sympathy card ...I did my best and this is what I came up with...

Sorry but the pictures aren't brilliant. I saw a twisted easel card on a blog last week and decided to use it for Norma's card. I love this style and you'll be seeing a few more of these over the next few weeks :-D I decided on Crosseyed Buttercup and coloured her with my Copics.

I'd like to enter the following Challenges...

Little Miss Muffet Challenges - Easel/Shaped/Stepped
Scrapbook Sisters - Sympathy/Thinking of You
Shelly's Images - Anything Goes

That's it from me for today. I hope you like today's reveal and remember if you would like to win one of Pam's images leave a comment on the Challenge Blog

TLT is back - Use Your New Stash!

Helloooooooo! It's great to be back to Totally Ladybug Tuesday...I hope you all had fabulicous Christmas and New Year celebrations. I don't think I really sat down and enjoyed the holiday. I didn't watch any tv to speak of and I'm almost positive I was in the kitchen cooking 98% of the time! I cooked most of NYE only to take a break to drive Steven and his girlfriend into town for the celebrations (taxi's were on double time...mom's taxi...usual rates hmph!). Managed to wish hubby HNY at the bells then went back to the kitchen lol.

We're having a small change to the challenges....we're going fortnightly!! It gives all of us a bit more time as life just seems to get in the way of crafting these days lol.

Thank you to everyone who joined in our Bingo Challenge over the holidays....we loved looking at them all. Make sure you pop over the the Challenge Blog to see if you're the winner or one of the Top 3.

We are easing you in gently for our first challenge of 2012 which is Anything Goes Using Your New Stash. Santa did bring you all the craft goodies on your wish list didn't he?? Whether Santa brought it or a friend or you bought it for yourself as a treat we want to see you use it on your card/project/scrapbook page. We still have our fabulicous Guest Designers, Diane, Sally and Catherine so we have a lot of inspiration for you :-D

It was my friend Karen's 50th birthday in October (you know what's coming next right?) and I'm afraid I forgot and then every time I attempted to make her card life got in the way! I'm seeing her tomorrow so I was determined I wasn't showing up without her card so today's challenge was the perfect opportunity to make it!

Looking through my stamps and digi's I hummed and hawwed and finally chose the only stamp for the job...Buttercup .. In the Doghouse lololololol (I hope I'm not!). This is what I came up with...

Some of the Ladybugs held a Secret Santa and I decided to use my gift of these gorgeous Dovecraft papers as my New Stash. My SS also cut out lots of dies of buttons, mini envelopes, buckles and butterflies in coordinating colours...it must have taken SS forever lol. I know I didn't get them for Christmas but they are new to my stash and that is my Whimsy Ticket die and stamp set and also my Dienamics Mix & Match Banner set which I got for my you-know-what! Oh yeah...also my Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die lol. I borrowed a LO from a you-know-what card I received from one of my Lovely Ladybugs (thanks Laurie) to help kickstart my mojo

I hope that's not me in there lol! I used my grass die instead of colouring in the grass with my Copics.

This gorgeous butterfly was from my SS. I added pale amethyst Swarovski crystals to the body and wings for a bit of bling. I've been looking at butterfly punches for a while and can't make up my mind as they're all gorgeous. This one is particularly pretty...not to frou frou IYKWIM.

This is one of 4 of the mix and match banner dies

{sigh} Loopy Flower

Whimsey Ticket die and stamp...still buttering (get it...buttering...Buttercup lmao) Karen up :-D

I went a bit overboard with the inside too lol...do you think she'll forgive me?? I hope Karen likes her card...I've decided I'm going to start her card now for this year ... I might just get it done in time lol.

I'd love to enter the following challenges:

Bearly-Mine - Anything Goes
Craft-room Challenge - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays - Something New
Top Tip Tuesday - Anything GoesMake It Monday - Anything Goes
Stamps R Us - What you got for Christmas or Anything Goes

Now if you haven't heard LCI have a massive 1/2 price cling stamp sale going on for the month of January. There is a slight hiccup in that the discount isn't working! I know I know..only I could have a sale like that lol. I was talked through the set up from the web people so I'm not accepting all the blame especially as this is the 3rd time it's happened. I'm hoping the offices will be open today or tomorrow to help me get it working and for those that have placed orders, thank you for your patience. I haven't left the country with your money lol. I will get your refunds sorted over the next couple of days.

Ok, I think I've taken up enough of your time. There is plenty of inspiration from the rest of the Ladybugs so make sure you check them our. Oh...and how about leaving some Ladybug Love?

Thanks for stopping by

***EDIT The discount in the store is now working yayyyy!!!***

TLT - My Challenge - Favourite Stamp

Hello everyone! Boy have I missed TLT...mind you I don't know how I would have fitted it in last month! What with my menopausal drama's (Angus seems to be working :-D) and friends coming to stay and just life in general...phew, I need a holiday lol.

So let's get on with it....welcome to TLT...it's great to be back. Because it was the summer hols and everyone would be busy I didn't think we'd get many entries for Sue's July Challenge - Summer Birthday's but boy we were swamped! You guys really outdid yourselves this time :-D Take yourself on over to the Challenge Blog to see if you're one of the winner's.

This month it's my turn to pick the challenge which is Favourite Stamp. I don't know what I was thinking when I chose that cuz asking me to choose my favourite stamp is like asking me to choose my favourite child!!! Of course my kids are forever accusing me of favouring one of the other's but I just keep telling them that they're ALL my favourite lol.

After much deliberation I chose Buttercup - In the doghouse. I just LOVE Buttercup (as I do all my other stamps lol)....this one is such fun to colour in. I have a confession to make before I show you my card. I made this card for one of my Ladybugs....I totally forgot Anita's birthday last month...think I was mid PB lol...I thought I had all the July birthday's wrapped up. I'm sorry Anita ... I hope you like your card :-D

Are you shocked it isn't square? I am lol. I got the pp from a Kaiser 6 x 6 pad that I picked up in Craft World the other week and I can see myself using it a lot. Some of the flowers in the pp are shiney...very lush

There's me in the doghouse for forgetting Anita's birthday lol

After seeing a lot of punched fences in blogland recently I was determined to dust mine off and use it...whether it suited or not!

So there you have it :-D Make sure you check out the other Ladybug's creations and leave some love....we LOVE Ladybug Love.

I regret to inform you that my Blogaversary candy and 'old' follower prize has remained {gasp} unclaimed!! I have contacted Random Org and have redrawn the winners and they are:

Main winner - SUSAN

'Old' Follower - KURLY-Q

Congratulations girls...I do hope you'll claim your prizes (you've got a week) otherwise I'm going to keep them for myself lol! Email me at ladybugcraftsink@aol.com  to let me know where you want your stash sent :-D

I think that's it from me for today. I'm going to spend the rest of the day making the STD cards...Nic wants them out this week!!! Little does she know Monday will be soon enough lol.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

TLT - Pinky's Challenge - Animals

Wow...I can't believe my house is still standing after the winds yesterday (up to 100mph)! I hope everyone affected by the GFW are safe and haven't had too much damage to their property. I thought we'd gotten away with a few patio chairs blowing around but a HUGE tree at the bottom of our yard on the other side of the fence fell into our yard taking some of the fence with it. I haven't managed to get a picture yet but will post one later. Also our heavier than heavy BBQ was lifted and blown across the patio!! Mother Nature is so not happy :-(

With the winds came the inevitable power cuts and yup you guessed it...we lost power for over 4 hours.  I managed to get everything but the sewing done and just before 8pm the lights etc flickered and I was finally able to finish my card. With the pictures finally taken and Photoshopped (I think Pinky was stressing as my card hadn't appeared until after 10pm last night :-S) here is the end result....

There are so many LCI stamps to choose from that have animals but I hadn't inked up Buttercup - In the Doghouse in a while so I did lol. I coloured her in with my Copics, cut her out with my Nesties and mounted her on scalloped green cs. What do you think of the pp? Isn't it stunnalicious! As I was about to pay for my things at Precious Memories after my demo, I noticed this gorgealicous Basic Grey pp called Sweet Threads. I only bought one sheet each of 5 in the range so I'm kicking myself I didn't get more.

Poor Buttercup...she doesn't look too happy now her house is sold. I made up the sentiment with my favourite alphabet set.

I wanted to give the card a bit of dimension so I stamped the image twice (which means colouring it twice!) and cut out one, including Buttercup, and sticking it over the main image using dimensional foam pads so it looks like Buttercup is actually in the house.

It would have been rude not to use my EK Success paw punch and I found this megalicious crinkly ribbon I bought sometime last year.

Thank you to my lovely Ladybug Pinky for choosing this weeks challenge...I'm sorry if I stressed you out lol.

Now don't forget to check to see if you're a winner from last weeks Challenge. If you see your name in the #1 spot email me with your chosen stamp and where you want me to send it.

Before I forget I want to apologise for the lack of words in my post last week lol. Before I left for Vancouver I uploaded all the photographs and was going to write up the posts once I was there. I did the first one fine but then we went to the States all day on the following Monday and didn't get back till late and I totally forgot about it until I woke the next morning! By that time it was well into the afternoon here and apart from thinking you'd enjoy a quick post for a change and not have to read all the rubbish I write, I didn't have the energy. I know some of my team were a bit concerned as they say I'm never lost for words lol.

Anywho, thanks for dropping in. I hope you enjoy this weeks challenge and the inspiration the team have for you. Why not let us know what you think by leaving a comment...we LOVE to hear from you :-D

I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again...

This is it peeps...the final countdown eek!!! I THINK I've got everything packed...samples, passport, tickets, money, laptop (once I've finished this lol), uniforms, Skechers. Well... um there might be a little problem with the Skechers. When I tried on my black trousers they were a little itty bit on the tight side so Monday night I was surfing the net for high waisted trousers to tuck that muffin top in. Finally found a pair in Matalan of all places. Thing was Tuesday I was taking Ruby to Stirling for her checkup at 11 and I had to get my business cards in Falkirk so what I did was found a Matalan in Falkirk in case I had time on the way but also another couple in case I had to go on the way back. We set off at 8:50 to drop Rocky off at Doggy Daycare then headed to Falkirk, got my business cards and directions to Matalan...found the store and raced in and grabbed 2 pairs (£14 each...can't beat that and they're pretty flab!) and managed to get to the vets in time for Ruby's appoointment. So back to the Skechers. The longest length the trousers came in was 31" and I'm at least 33". I tried the shoes on and I looked ridiculous...shouts of 'the floods over' rang in my ears so I grabbed a pair of scissors and let the hem down. Still didn't look right so I tried on another pair of black trainerish shoes I've got and they're fine. So after all that about my Skechers and my Cindy Crawford butt it looks like I'll have to put up with a saggy bottom for a bit longer hmph!

As you know my team have made samples for CHA. I haven't posted any of them on here because they've posted them on their own blogs. But I wanted to show you a couple of things Annette made for me. You are gonna love these and if they don't sell a stamp or two along with all the other gorgeous samples then nothing will!

When I was in CW the other week Annette asked me to pick up one of those chipboad circle albums but they didn't have one. They did however have a cupcake one and this is what Annette came up with...

Annette stamped Cupcake Cutie - Cherry on Top onto shrink plastic, coloured it then shrunk it!

A cupcake recipe and Make a Wish

Cupcake Stack

Wagon full of Cupcakes

and finally Cherry on Top

The end!

Annette had posted on her blog a little set of cards using Buttercup In the Doghouse and Curious she'd made for a friend. Of course I loved it straight away and asked if she'd make me one for CHA and she did :-D

Curious Buttercup. How adorable are these projects!

Once again thank you to my Lovely Ladybugs for their samples, Elaine and Annette for cutting out my stand decorations with their Cricuts and samples and all my friends, family and you for your help, support and encouragement in getting me to CHA. I'm so excited, nervous, scared all at once but I've got BFF and my sisters to keep me calm and hopefully we'll have a great time. I look forward to meeting some of the people's blogs I follow... I'll be blog struck lololol! I plan on taking plenty of pictures and trying to post as much as I can so you can see how we're doing.

I guess I'd better get to my bed or I'll sleep through my alarm! Have a great week and thanks for stopping by :-D
