Midweek reminder - For A Special Lady

I'd just like to say that I had my card made at the weekend but couldn't find the time to blog it...honest lol!!! Believe it or not I made THREE cards in two days...yup I did :-D My house is like a bomb site but does that matter when you're crafting...absolutely not ;-D

Can't remember if I told you that Rocky had an operation on his back left cruciate (knee) in early January. At his 4 week post operation check they found bacteria on the implant and he's been on a 4 week course of antibiotics. We go back to the Vet School tomorrow to see if the infection has cleared and if it has hopefully he can run off lead and go back to Doggy Daycare for the first time in over 8 weeks! I know Rocky and Ruby have missed Norma from Doggy Daycare and she's missed them so what better image to use for my midweek reminder than Dog Walker Nikki....let me know what you thunk...

My card is a bit like Marmite...you'll love it or you'll hate it and I'm leaning closer to loving it today...tomorrow could be another story lol. I've tried and failed to use flowers and flourishes on my cards...I just don't have the knack to make them look amazing like a lot of you so for now I'm going to stick to plain and simple but I won't give up lol.

I've coloured the image with my Copics and used them for the sky and ground too. I cut clouds from my PTI dies and stamped Miss You from a set of Clearly Besotted sentiment stamps I was gifted. I roughed up the edges of the image with a sanding block and added twine and a button at the bottom. After sticking the image to the card blank with foam pads I added loads...and I mean LOADS...of WOS to Nikki's sweater, the dogs tags and the clouds so IRL my card is so sparkly you need sunglasses to look at it lol.

I've given Norma a few cards from Rocky and Ruby over the years using Buttercup and she's loved them so hopefully she'll love this one too :-D

I went a bit crazy with the camera this last week...the subject of course being Coen lol. He is now TEN months old....wow!!! You'll be happy to know I've managed to chose only 2 pictures to show you today lol.

I think Coen is obsessed with eating noses lol

Somehow I managed to add a filter to my phone camera and couldn't get it off for ages so all the pictures have this yellow tone but I kinda like it. He looks so much like his mom and uncles here.

Ryan's been busy since going back to LA. Thankfully the football/soccer season has started back a. He's also been taking acting lessons and doing a bit of modelling. He's applied for his Green Card which means he'll be able to take on paid acting and modelling jobs once it's been granted. In the meantime he does shoots to gain experience. Recently he was asked to do a photo shoot which turned into a photo shoot and a music video. If you have a spare 5 minutes and like Depeche Mode click on the link to see a re-creation of their Useless video. Ryan is the one at the left and takes his sunglasses off.

That's it from me for today. Coen is due to wake from his nap and after lunch we're going to get the train into East Kilbride for a mooch around.

I hope you're having a fab week and it continues through to the weekend.

For A Special Lady Challenge

Hello lovelies...hope all is well with you and you've had a crafty fortnight :-D Thank you to everyone who entered Sue's One For The Boys challenge...I don't believe men's cards are that hard because your entries were fabtastic! Check our Challenge Blog to see if you were one of the winners :-D

This fortnight's challenge is brought to you by QOB (Queen of Bunting) otherwise known as Julie ;-D She's chosen For a Special Lady so we'd like to see what you can do. It can be for a birthday, get well, friendship or just because.

The Ladybugs have used Nikki and Friends digital images. Nikki holds a special place in my heart as she was the first collection from LCI. Originally she was only available as a stamp but you can now purchase her in digi format.

The image I've used is Slobbing Nikki....I wish I could spend at least one day a week in this position lol.

I thought paper piecing was the way to go but after seeing the pictures when I was writing the post I'm thinking maybe colouring would have been better lol. Och well everything in hindsight ;-D I've paper pieced the couch and pillows from the same Bo Bunny paper pad and coloured the rest with my Copics. I added the text using a text box so I could move it freely to where I wanted it under the couch. If you're wondering, DIL stands for daughter in law...it was a commission...and on the inside it's from MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL, BIL & NIL...I'm sure you can work those out lol.

I've added glitter to her slippers and WOS to the pillows though you can't see it in the photo. I didn't like it for a long while but I stepped away, went to bed and when I looked at it again in the morning I didn't not like it lol. TBH it looks better irl. The main thing is DIL loved it so job done!

We had 2 gorgeous days last week and I took Coen to the park. We walked around the duck pond, had a bit of lunch at the Boat House then went to the playground area...it was a fab day. Can you see those blue skies??!!! Just as well I got photographic evidence because we haven't seen them since hmph!

I found this picture of Coen eating Uncle Ryan's nose...I guess he was trying to tell him he was hungry lol

That's it from me for today. I hope you'll pop over to the challenge blog and see the gorgeous cards the DT have made for you.

One For The Boys midweek reminder

Another week another midweek reminder...it will be Christmas before you know it ...oops...sorry for saying the C word rofl.

I have a confession...I haven't crafted in a couple of weeks...been so busy looking after Coen and then recovering lol. I must say I LOVE being a grandma and LOVE looking after him but boy it's tiring...I need the next day to recover. I've been struggling with that part of it cuz in my head I'm still 18 but my body is reminding me I'm 50 ! Boy...you'd think I was 80 or something lol. With that in mind...I hadn't crafted not I was 80...I wanted to make a QUICK card for today's reminder. The only way I could achieve that was not to colour the image. So that took me to black and white and since I didn't have any black and white pp I had a looky on Etsy and found some fab digital papers, downloaded them and before you know it my card was made!!!

Here it is...let me know what you think....

Ryan passed his driving test in LA last week and I thought First Car Josh was perfect for a card for him. I printed Josh...mounted him on black cs, printed the diagonal check pp and mounted it on black cs. I made a little 'quilt' of other pp from the collection and punched flags using my fabby banner punch from Stampin' Up! I curled the flags, glued the corners together attaching string at the ends (a tip from QOB aka Ladybug Julie) and finally added gunmetal nailheads between the flags then added it to the card. I still haven't decided if I'm going to add a sentiment or not as I've already congratulated him on the inside...we'll see.

Here's a closer look at the pp ... the flag on the end is the same as the large pp behind the image but on a smaller scale.

Tuesday wouldn't be Tuesday with a picture of my little monkey. Coen went to his first birthday party at the weekend....twin girls he used to go to Rhythm Time class with. In fact he was the only boy there!!! The twins mom had the girl from RT come to entertain the kids...we beat drums, shook maracas and tambourine's and sung and swayed ... well I did anyway lol. It was good fun and all the kids loved it.

I didn't manage to get a picture from the party but here's one I took the day before....I think he might be fed up of Grandma taking his picture and was trying to grab my phone lol.

Another little video with Grandpa being a terrible tease!

That's it from me for today...I think Coen and I might go for a nice walk as the weather is supposed to be dry and sunny!

Thanks for stopping by,

One For The Boys!

Hands up who can believe it's March already! My hand is firmly at my side...not sure what happened to January and February and all signs point to a speedy March too :-S

I want to thank everyone who commented on our new Floral Delight 3 release...there was a lot of love going on :-D. If you want to see if you were the winner of 4 of the new FD3 images and either of the other challenge and Top 3 winners check out the Challenge Blog here. Thank you to everyone who linked up to our Flowers Galore challenge...all entries were stunning!

Our new challenge One For The Boys comes from Ladybug Sue. The DT have used Jack and The Teenager's Josh images to guide you and I'm thinking you're gonna LOVE them :-D Although you can purchase Jack as a stamp he is now available as a digi!

I've used Policeman Jack...

.

I used the digi format for Policeman Jack. I've coloured him with my Copic's (don't look too close) and added Glossy Accents to the badges and whistle. These images are super fun and suit all ages. I know a lady who bought Policeman Jack to make a card for her policeman son!

I've been collecting Washi tape but have never felt confident enough to use it...why not???? It's so easy to use and is a nice change from using pp. I stamped the image using a Paper Smooches stamp I got from
My Mum's Craftshop. Are you familiar? They are fab and funky and have some great dies too. Anywho back to the stamping...it's awful lol. I can't remember the last time I stamped a sentiment...especially on the actual main front of a FINISHED card. Usually I'll stamp it on a piece of cs, trim and mount it. I guess I didn't have a good grip of the card and it came to meet the stamp and I did a bit of a double stamp...don't you just hate when that happens grrr! Too late to make another ;-D

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes/Use dies or punches
Craft Your Passion - Birthday Bonanza
Digi Makeover Challenge - Must use digi/Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Paptertake Weekly - Birthday
TTCRD - Anything Goes

Coen got some new wheels the other week and he loved them. Poor child has no shoes on...we're saving up for a pair lol.

I took this little video last week and it makes me laugh every time watch it...which is a lot! I especially love the little noise Coen lets out when Rocky barks and then sings along to the tune. You can see Ruby hiding behind Coen to the left...she's been left traumatized by Speedy Gonzales lol. If you're in his way watch out! Enjoy!

If you're looking for inspiration make sure you head over to the rest of the DT blogs.

Have a great day...catch ya later x
