New Release & Blog Hop

New releases are like buses ..you wait for ages for one then a load come along at once lol. Yes we've got another release at LCI and I think you're really going to like it...well I hope you do! It's called Through The Ages and there are 20 images in this collection. I KNOW...can you believe it??!!

We have two Guest Designers today, Rose and Lyndsey. They are both incredibly talented and I hope you give them a real Ladybug welcome. Rose will be staying on to cover for Michele who is recovering from shoulder surgery and I'm hoping she'll love us so much she won't want to leave ;-D

As per usual we have a few rules for the hop so let's get them over with:

1. Leave a comment on each of the DT posts as you hop.

2. Leave a comment on the Challenge blog letting us know which image you like best

 3. Display our badge in your side bar to spread the word.

4. Have fun!

Like I said, there are 20 images on sale from today at £1.75 each. The winner of the challenge will get to choose 6 images and 5 runners up will receive 3 images of their choice.

Going with the theme of the  images the Challenge is
ADD A NUMBER! We'd like to see a number somewhere on your project.

You should have arrived here from our lovely Tams

Here's my card...I hope you like it...

Oh to be 18 again lol! When I thought of this collection I wanted something a bit different so incorporated the number within the images. I really love how they turned out and think Jan has done an amazing job with the illustrations.

The cupcake frosting is my favourite Fluffy stuff dusted with glitter before fluffing. I added Glossy Accents to the 8 and flame and sprinkled with glitter then added GA on it's own to the candle so it looked like wax. A Swarovski crystal finishes the flower off nicely

I found this Stampin' Up! Ribbon in the depths of a drawer and it matched perfectly with my Summer Breeze paper pad

This button was a last minute addition...love it!

So there you have it...the end of the hop. I hope you have enjoyed the wonderful makes from the DT and GD and that they have inspired you to rush to your craft space and create.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Challenge 4 Eveyone - Anything Goes
OSAAT - Use Digi
Creative Card Crew - Birthday
Make it Monday - Anything Goes
My Grafico - Anything Goes
OLLCB - Sparkle (Candle and frosting) & Shine (candle)

Thanks for stopping by

TLT Midweek reminder - Valentine Billie or is it??

Another week has flown by...can you believe it??? It's going to be 2014 before we know it :-S

A friend of ours is leaving for Australia tomorrow for a year. She was Ryan's girlfriend when they were 15/16 but has always been in our lives since they broke up. She and Nicole are great friends and there was a surprise going away party for her on Sunday. I popped down after making her card to say good bye. I'm thinking I really really REALLY like it lol.

I printed Valentine Billy quite a bit smaller than the last cards I made and colored her in with my Copics. I treated myself to a few things after selling most of my SU! stamp sets and Sizzix dies...a MFT scallop border die, colored twine and MME's My Girl paper pad...it is utterly gorgeous, the colors scrumptious. I saw the LO here and loved the card Jen made...especially the doodling and after coloring Billie and paper piecing the balloons had a go myself. A bit stupid really if it all went pear shape lol. Luckily it turned out pretty good and I'll definitely doodle more often.

I chose 3 different papers for the balloons

One of the twine's I bought and an Epoxy Dot in the middle of the felt flower

So far I've used Valentine Billie for a Valentine, new baby and now a good luck card and I'm sure there are plenty more occasions she will suit.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Make it Monday - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Buttons and Bling
Little Red Wagon - Totally Teddy Bears
Crafty Ribbons - Button Up
Sassy Studio Design - Real or Faux Stitching
Shelly's Images - Sew much fun

We have been enjoying beautiful weather here since Saturday. On Sunday hubby, Nicole, Ryan and I went to Edinburgh for the day and had a lovely lunch by a canal. Yesterday Nic and I went to Troon with Ruby and Rocky. Here are a couple of videos I took....

This one made me laugh...do you think Nicole will be able to get  her kids to do as she asks or will she always turn to me to do it lolololol???

There are exciting things happening at LCI Central next week which I don't think you'll want to miss so make sure you check back.

Time for me to make another card...thanks for stopping by.

PS Notice I didn't follow the challenge which was Pink +1 other color lol. Oops!!

Easy as 1-2-3

Happy Valentine's Day...did you receive a card from a secret admirer? No...me neither lol. Oh, there's always next year hmph!

My card on Tuesday was hubby's Valentine's card...probably should have waited to post it today but then I wouldn't have today's card to show you!!! I am super duper excited about it. Why? 1) I've never made one of these before 2) It actually turned out ok lol. I was telling the Ladybugs on the DT blog yesterday that it was a wowzer then realized I set myself up for a fall if nobody agreed but I'm a big girl and I can take whatever they throw at me lol.

Are you ready? Here you go....

Ta dah ...it's a Triple Tier Easel card!!!! I'm a bit bored with my usual square cards and wanted to do something a bit different. I remembered Lyndsey does the most fabulicious tutorials and she certainly didn't disappoint with this one. I'd never seen a TTE card before and apart from looking a bit squint and the pink cs not matching the pink in the pp I think it's a wowzer lolololol. If little 'ol me can do it so can you :-D You get a better idea of what it looks like in the bottom picture.

I used the 3 smallest of the scalloped circle Grand Nestabilities and the matching circles. It does look fabtastic IRL and once I had added the last flower I had a thought...do I have an envelope big enough for it to fit into????? The answer quite simply is no lol. It's just slightly too big for an A5 envelope so I would have to either make one, use an A4 envelope or wrap it like a present.

Billie Bear is just too cute

What do you think? I really love how it turned out and look forward to making another one...maybe using smaller circles the next time!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Digital Tuesday - Up Up and Away
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - Put Your Heart On It
Papertake Weekly - Hearts and Flowers
Crafting By Designs - Heart but not Valentine

I have a birthday card to make for a 2 year old which I need to post tomorrow at the latest so I'd better get my skates on.

Oh...before I forget, the winner of the Valentine Billy image is Alison Scott. Email me at ladybugcraftsink@aol.com  Alison and I'll send VB by return.

Thanks for stopping by today.

TLT - Laurie's Challenge Pink + 1

Goooooooooood morning!!! How are you all? Surviving the snow? I know I shouldn't complain but I am...we've hardly had any snow at all :-( We've had a few pathetic attempts but not enough to build a snowman, throw snowballs at Ruby and Rocky or make Snow Angels hmph!

We had a fantastic lot of entries for our Killer Heels Girly challenge, thank you. You'll find all the winners on the Challenge Blog. Are you one of them? If you are let me know and we'll organize your prize :-D

Today's Pink + 1 challenge comes courtesy of our super duper organized Ladybug, Laurie! She chose the challenge of pink but we have one Ladybug that has an allergy to all shades of pink and somehow +1 was added lol. That just means you can add another color. Of course skin tones don't count so you're free to add another :-D

I've a sneaky peak of what's to come in the not too distant future. A few of the Ladybugs are introducing a new character today called Billie Bear. Another few are using Tic Tac Love which I showed you last year but both are released today. Then there are the rebels that used neither lol.

Here is my card using Valentine Billie (named after my grandma....speaking of grandma..did I mention I'm going to be one in May??? lol) illustrated by Jan White.....

This is Valentine Billie...cute? I think so lol. I just love this little gal...and wait till you see what else we have in this collection ;-D

I made one BIG mistake...the ribbon. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE the ribbon but wish I had left it out. Speaking of ribbon, this is a new addition. It comes in pink, turquoise, apple green and red. The picture here and the website don't do the colors justice...you HAVE to see them to love them :-D

Look at that sparkle {sigh}

What a cutie!

I printed the sentiment on my computer and cut it out with one of my Fishtail dies from MFT

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Catered Crop - Polka Dots
Creative Inspirations Paint - Valentine's Day
Kenny K's Krafty Krew - To the one I love
OSAAT - Anything Goes
Card Mania - Love
Craft Your Passion - Valentine
Cutie Pie Challenge - Valentine Cards
Kaboodle Doodles - Valentine
Make it Monday - Anything Goes

Now if you like Valentine Billie and would like to own her for FREE just leave me a comment  telling me why and I'll choose a winner on Thursday :-D

Thanks for stopping by today...make sure you check out the other gorgeous makes by our Lovely Ladybugs.

Saturday 9 February 2013

Bye bye baby...again!

Happy Saturday! Boy have thing been busy around here this past week. At the last minute...and I mean LAST minute, Steven flew to Dubai for 3 1/2 months for a few job opportunities. It was all systems go from Friday to Wednesday to get him ready or should I say for me to wash, dry and iron his clothes lol. I didn't have much time to think about missing him or get too upset ...guess he wasn't too upset for long either lol.....

He's staying with a friend of ours so I made her a card to thank her...

I've used Rose from the Killer Heel collection coloring it with my Copics

I loved the way Pam added glitter to the bag but didn't want to copy exactly so used very fine silver glitter instead of clear. At first I wasn't too sure about it...thought I'd ruined it but after a couple of days decided it looked pretty cool. I added Glossy Accents to the roses...you can just about see it on the top right rose.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Copic Marker Europe - Anything Goes using Copic markers
Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Anything Goes with Ribbon
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
Fairy tale Challenge Blog - Stitching, real or faux
Inspire Me Friday's - Anything Goes
Sweet Pea Stampers - Use a Digital Stamp
Make it Monday - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty - Ribbons and bows

Nicole and Ben were over the other night for dinner. We were talking all things baby (have I told you I'm going to be a grandma lol???) and the subject of what to bring baby McLeod home in came up. I told Nic I had brought her and her brother's home in the same outfit...one bought for Nic by my grandpa. She asked to see it so I went into the attic, found it and a few other things including each of Nicole, Ryan and Steven's first shoes!! Have a look.....

LOLOLOLOL...look at the different in size!! Can you guess whose are whose? In case you can't, Nicole's are on the far left, Ryan's are in the middle and Steven's on the right. With the scuffed toes of Ryan's I guess it was obvious he was going to play football and by the size of Steven's (baby size 5) that he would grow tall...and he did....to 6' 6 1/4" !!!!!! We all had a good giggle at the difference.

Hope you have a great weekend

Killer Heels Midweek Reminder

Midweek Reminder??? Hmm...not so sure that's the right way to phrase it but my brain has ceased to function so it will have to do lol!

This was the first card I made in 2013 and it was the first since well before Christmas. It was for BFF's birthday on December 18th....yup...I was late lol!!!

I printed Killer Masquerade and tried to color it with my Copics. I decided to color the stripes first which can I tell you took all my concentration AND eyesight lol. I was really pleased with the result so carried on with the shoe...boy did I make a BIG mistake. I should have tested the colors first because I didn't realize until I was coloring a larger area that the markers were all but dry!!! There was NO WAY I was going to start again with all those stripes so I just carried on and eked every last bit of ink from the 3 (yes all THREE were dry) pinks. You can see how bad it is in the photo below...

EEK! My unborn grandchild could have done a better job hmph! I created the sentiment in Word...aren't I clever? Actually our lovely GD Jen explained how to do it proving you can teach an old dog new tricks lol.

This is the verse for the inside I found on the internet...

OK, so this card is late
Landing on your mat
But the others were bought in a shop
How difficult is that ?
This card took skill and talent
And dedication to create
And days of thought and craftsmanship
It's no wonder that it's late
But seriously, I'm sooooo sorry
Jon Bratton c 2005

I thought it was perfect and I've used it a couple of times since lol.

Don't forget the hop is still on...you still have 6 days to play along and guess the word for a chance to win the images :-D

Today is my dad's 80th birthday and I really wanted to go home to celebrate with him but wasn't able to :-(

This is dad and DLS at Nicole and Ben's wedding...happy birthday dad!!

Hope you have a fabulicious Tuesday...thanks for stopping by :-D
