Red & White - Midway Reminder

I hope you're sitting down for this card because you might just fall over otherwise!!! I've been wanting to use Love Heart Billie for ages but just never had the opportunity...until now :-D I'm not going to say anything until after the pictures and you've picture yourself up off the floor lol.

Ready??? Here's my mid-way reminder...

I loved Sally's Love Heart Billie card which you can see here and thought I would borrow her idea of adding the sentiment to the heart which I managed to do in Photoshop...I totally impressed myself as it turned out perfectly lol. Once I added the sentiment I saved it to my file then imported and sized it in Microsoft Word as usual. As always I used my Copics to colour the image...just don't look too close!

What do you thunk?

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Artisitic Inspirations - Lots of Layers
Cutie Pie Challenge - Lots of Layers
Digi Makeover Challenge - Celebrations
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Celebrate the Occasion - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments - Letter B (Bear, Bow)

I'll add the inside sentiment closer to the date. Closer to the date I hear you say??? Well, as you know I am notoriously late with the majority of my friends and families cards OR I'm making them at 11 the night before. I don't know if you remember when Nicole and Ben got married but it was May 26. Today is April 30th.... if you take into account I made this two days ago this card is TWENTY-EIGHT days EARLY peeps!!! Can you believe it??? Nor can I but I'm going with it rofl. The trick now is to remember I've made them a card AND where I've put it for safe keeping lol.

It will be a week on Monday that I will be a Glam ma' as the Ladybugs have decided I should be called lol.  Well, Nic is due that day (13th) but babies come when they're good and ready though Nic's MIL, myself, her friend's mom and her friend's husband have predicted she will have it on the 12th. OMG...I'm just so excited and I'm almost positive I've already told you this more than once lol.

I'm off to start and finish these place cards...please slap me if I ever accept another wedding commission hmph!

PS Make sure you keep checking in this week as I've got a bit of news for you!!

George Who????

Welcome to another TLT at Ladybug Crafts Ink. The weeks are still flying by and the weather isn't getting much better. We had a little tease at the weekend of what might come but it's back to wind, rain and ccccold hmph!

The entries for our last challenge were outstanding ... make sure you check out our Challenge Blog to see if you were one of our winners :-D

Today's challenge comes from our Lovely Lisa....St George's Day - Red and White. Our North American DT members (I include myself in that exclusive group!) weren't too sure who George was but after a little explanation from Lisa and then realizing we didn't have to reference the actual George in our card but the colors red and white we quite happily got on with the challenge lol.

This is what I came up with...

I've used Sweet Treat Billie from the recently release Billie Bear digi collection and colored her with my Copics. I added Fluffy Stuff sprinkled lightly with glitter to the frosting before fluffing it with my heat tool and more glitter to her heart. I embossed a piece of white cs with a birthday embossing folder and stitched it all together then added the sumptuous red check ribbon.

I swithered whether to add Glossy Accents to the cherry which I didn't but I think I'm going to before I send the card to it's recipient ;-D

The cherry definitely needs GA!

To keep the theme going I stitched a cupcake border to the inside :-D

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations - A card for a Lady
Cupcake Craft Challenges - Monochromatic
Paper Makeup Stamps - Animal Friends
Eureka Stamps- Animal Catwalk
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Bearly-Mine Challenges - Use a Digi (paper too if possible)
Crafty Sentiments Designs - Monochromatic
Digital Tuesdays - Birthdays

Now it's over to you...let's see your red and white creations and remember, if you use an LCI image you get an extra prize!!

Nicole finished work on Sunday and is officially on maternity leave yayyyyyy!!! What????? Didn't I tell you??? I'm going to be a GRANDMA....in less than 3 weeks!!!!! At her last hospital visit the baby's head wasn't engaged (although she thought she would go at any time...wishful thinking me thinks lol) and the baby's back was to hers. Now anyone that has given birth this way, me included (with Nicole) knows this is excruciatingly painful (I heard one of the nurses saying I sounded like I was being murdered!) ....especially when your doctor wants a screaming baby and thinks Demerol is sufficient pain relief (yup...that's what my Dr thought)!!! Bouncing on a birthing ball was suggested so off she went, bought one and proceeded to bounce away (unfortunately it didn't trigger labor) and it paid off in more ways than one. The baby has turned AND the head is now engaged!!!!! OMG...I'm thinking I'm going to be a grandma ANY DAY NOW lol. Nic is absolutely terrified about the whole birthing thing so she had a crash course last night in hypno-birthing which she said helped a great deal and made Ben feel more included :-D A friend asked me what I wanted to be called...when I said Grandma she said that sounded too old so then I suggested Kerry but that didn't impress so we played about with names and came up with Kiki or Glamma lolololol.

Anywho, I've got a bizzy day ahead...communion invites to finish, place names to start, a house to tidy...a woman's work is never done {sigh}

Hope you have a brilliant day!

Toddler/Teen/Etc Mid Week Reminder

{pant pant pant} I'm here!!!! I've run from the dentist...ok...I ran from the car after driving back from the dentist lol...to take pictures of my card and type up today's post. I finished my card late last night and didn't have the energy or gumption (can you tell I've been watching The Holiday lol) to take pictures and edit them and I was up with the larks this morning to get Rocky and Ruby to Doggy Daycare then to the dentist so am I forgiven????

I started my card using pp then decided it was too busy so opted for plain cs jazzed up with my favorite SU! embossing folder. Let me know if it was worth the wait lol...

Much of the credit of this card goes to Ladybug Julie or QOB (Queen of Bunting) as I like to call her. I've always loved Julie's bunting ... mine always looked pretty lame until she shared her secret with me the other week...she might be sorry she did lol. Also her doodling is fabtastic and again she shared her secret with me...it's all in the pen (Copic Fineliner) and a steady hand so maybe a glass of wine before you start might help lol.

I got the stamping bug back after my Football Jack card the other week so decided to use High Top from the Shoes n Bags collection which I think is perfect for either a girl or boy. I would have loved this image on a card when I was a teenager as I was a tomboy through and through...no dresses for me!! I stamped the image with Momento Black Tuxedo ink (sadly neglected since digi took over my life) and colored it with my Copics AND my neglected Prisma Pencils...I forgot how yummy they are to use. I've used one of my favorite color combinations...pink and orange though the orange doesn't show up too well in the photograph.

I added Gunmetal nailheads to the trainers for added detail and Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust to the hearts.

I'm quite chuffed with the sentiment. I saw a card on a blog which I can't for the life of me remember because I'd like to give her credit. I thought I had saved the card but couldn't find it so if you've seen a card with a sentiment like this let me know and I'll give you/her a mention. Anywho, there were no instructions but I managed to figure it out...pretty cool huh1

I used my fabby SU! embossing folder to jazz up the numbers...a Die-namics die set.

I got a bit carried away with my doodling and continued it inside...think I've got the doodling bug as well as the bunting bug now!!

You can still buy High Top for an incredible £1.95...that's 70% off!!!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Come and Get It Challenges - Kids Birthday Cards
Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog - Stitching (real or not)
Kenny's Krafty Krew - Dies and punches (numbers and bunting)
The Craft Place - For a Child
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Favorite Color Combo
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

It's less than 4 weeks until Nicole has her baby...I did tell you right??? She finishes work on Sunday and cannot wait and neither can I!!! My DLS (darling little sister) became a grandma for the first time on Saturday night when her step-daughter Jhordan gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy Chase Devon...he is super cute and I am thrilled for all of them.

I hope you have a great Tuesday.

Memory Lane Road Trip Part 2

Here's another card I made a while back using Frog Chasing Jack. This is when I first tried bunting so it's not got much of a personality ie doodling, shaping, flapping in the wind lol.

The Jack images are perfect for the little guy in your life or even the man in your life reliving his childhood lol.

I'd like to show my card in Make It Monday

It's a great time to stock on on your cling stamps as the 70% discount on cling stamps rages on! While you're shopping why not add a few for a crafty friend? The discount shows at the checkout and you'll see exactly how much you're saving!!

Hope you have a great weekend

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Ladybug Julie had a great idea the other day...why not show some of our cards from our archives? I for one welcomed the idea as a lot has been going on of late but sadly crafting isn't one of them :-(

I took myself into my dusty dark archive files and came across a lot of cards that brought back a lot of fab memories and one of my favorites was this one using Bathtub Nikki...

I think it's the colors and that fabulicious bow that I love...apart from
Bathtub Nikki of course lol. I always meant to add a sentiment but never did but would probably use one of my favourites 'Relax and Enjoy your Birthday' as I never get to relax even on my birthday hmph!

You can still purchase Bathtub Nikki or any cling stamp in our 70% off cling stamp sale!

I'm going to enter this card in Make It Monday who allow you to add your past favourite makes :-D

Now that I've been in the archives I'll be back to share more cards with you later :-D

I'd like to say a big hello to my new followers that have taken me to 300 woot woot!!! I thought I would never get there as I've been hovering around 296 - 299 then going back down to 296 and going back up again for the past year so welcome and thank you very much :-D

Have a great Thursday and Thanks for stopping by!

TLT - Julie's Challenge - Child or Teenager

Well hello Ladybug fans... Hope you had a FABULICIOUS Easter and didn't eat too much chocolate! I had a great time in Rome with Sadie but I'll tell you more about it later on in the week and show you the pictures.

My laptop is in for repair and I'm using my iPad which has been a bit tricky....Julie has to add the photos for me...so I'm going to try and make this short for all our sakes lol.

I think we had a record amount of entries for our Anything Goes challenge and I know we've not commented on them all because of the Easter holidays but be assured we appreciate all your fantastic cards and projects and your effort to enter our challenge :-D make sure you check the challenge blog to see if you were a winner.

For my card I chose Football Jack. Here's a shocking admission....I can't remember the last time I used a stamp {gasp!} Isn't that terrible hmph!

I stamped coloured and cut out Football Jack and mounted him on an embossed circle. I bought the fabby tree and grass from Flourish With A Bling which is owned by Lucy Patrick (as well as Maggie and Kate), one of our GD's from our last challenge. She stocks the most gorgeous flourishes and embellishments for scrap booking and cards and although she's all the way in Australia, it only took 5 days to arrive on my doorstep... Including a weekend!!!

Isn't Jack adorable! I've added Glossy Accents to his football.

Here is a close up of the Flourish With A Bling Lee's Tree which I trimmed to fit my card.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations - Anything Goes
Crafty Bloggers Network - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Bearly Mine Challenges - Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Boys and Girls Come Out To Play

Ok... Strange things are going on so I'm going to finish up but will be back to sort this post when I get my laptop back!

Thanks for your help Julie :-D

Midway Reminder - Anything Goes

Just a quick reminder of our new Billie Bear release and our Anything Goes Challenge.

Hopefully when you read this Sadie and I are having a great time and we haven't killed each other lol.

I had fun making this birthday card using Billie Bear Floats Away...I loved coloring the balloons :-D

I used Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust on the Balloons. I filled each balloon separately with GA as I wanted them to look like individual balloons instead of one big mass IYKWIM.

I'm not sure if you can see from this angle?

A little peek at the inside.

I hope you're having a good week. We're back home on Thursday and I'm sure I'll have a tale or two to tell you lol.

Thanks for stopping by.
