Summer Sale!!!!

Good morning peeps..how are you on this glorious Saturday morning? The sun is still shining here in Scotland which is amazing and I think we're to get a few more days of it too!

Just wanted to let you know some fabulicious news...Ladybug Crafts Ink is having a SALE woo hoo!!! Starting Monday August 1 through to Monday August 15th all stamps will be buy one get one 1/2 price with the cheaper one being 1/2 price and if that's not gonna do it for you how about FREE postage too??!!!! How does that sound? Everyone loves a bargain right :-D

Here is another sample I made....I love this image, it makes me chuckle every time I look at it.

Isn't Robyn a little minx!

I'm heading off to CW this morning to get the cs for the STD cards. Nic's got the whip out and wants them done for next week!! Ladybugs...you think I'm bad with the whip lol.

The vet showed me Ruby's x-rays when I went to pick her up yesterday. She has a large mass along her cheek and jawline. She isn't sure what it is and they've done all the test and examinations they can think of so she has an appointment on Monday at The Vet School. This is where Ruby had her amputation and surgery for her broken front leg so they know her very well and everyone loves her. It's her home away from home lol. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

Hope you have a great weekend and the sun is shining wherever you are.

Costa del Glasgow

We had a great run of weather this past week. It was fabulicious to feel the sun on my skin and for the first time this year I sat out and enjoyed it :-D As you know I had visitors for a week and this is what we did....

Saturday: Sally and I went for a run then Sally, Abi, Amber and I went into town for a little mooch around and had lunch at Yo Sushi where Ben works and popped in to see Nic. Went out for dinner to D'Lish...and it was! Bought icecream on the way home and then Amber sang 4 or 5 songs for us...she's going to sing at Nic and Ben's wedding!

Sunday: Martin, Sally and I went for a run then took Ruby and Rocky to CB then we pottered about the house then Martin and Amber left to go home as Amber was going on holiday with friend.
Monday: Woke to find Ruby with swelling under her chin so took her to vet. They decided to sedate her for a thorough check but still not sure exactly what caused it...most probably an allergic reaction to a sting. She really wasn't well at all. Then it was THE CLEAROUT!!! I really didn't think I'd have much left after Abi and Sally made me try on EVERYTHING in my wardrobe. We had a charity pile, an ebay pile and a what-on-earth-was-I- thinking pile lol. I'm telling you here and now everyone should have a Sally in their lives....she put things together in my wardrobe I wouldn't have thought possible and all I had to do was add a scarf or piece of jewellry and I had a new outfit! Sally and I went for another run (do you think I have the bug???) before dinner instead of going to Zumba later.

Tuesday: we were going to go to Edinburgh but changed that to Wednesday and instead sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. I've got a nice little glow now :-D After dinner Sally, Abi, Nic and I went to see Horrible Bosses. I booked the tickets online and picked them up at the cinema. We got our goodies (I had Ben & Jerry's most megalicious Fairly Nuts and Berry Nice yum!!) then got our seats and waited. There weren't that many people in the cinema which surprised me but figured there would be a last minute rush. It seemed to take ages to come on when a tiny kidlet in front of us started crying. I thought it was odd that he/she was allowed into a 15 movie but when Abi looked at our tickets it turned out ours were for Cars 2!!!!! Turned out when I put my card in the machine to collect our tickets someone had started to buy Cars 2 tickets and I paid for them. Got it sorted and we got to see Horrible Bosses which was pretty funny.

Wednesday: Edinburgh!!! Nic picked us up and we parked in town and got the train from Queen Street. It was another gorgeous day and we had a lovely time going in and out of the stores and had a lovely lunch then the train back to the car and against my will was dragged to Booty Camp by Nicole. She goes to this class 3 times a week and I can only describe it as torture. I have resisted going so far but Sally was keen to go and I didn't want to appear to be a wet blanket so went along. I hated EVERY second of it. Andy made us run at a faster pace than I'm used to then we had to do 10 push ups and run up a steep embankment and down then 9 push ups and up again etc. Then it was squat thrusts or booty burps as they call them...anyway, you get the idea...not my idea of fun that's for sure. Maybe if it wasn't so hot I might have thought of going again but I can barely raise my arms above my shoulders!!

Thursday: Took Ruby to vets then it was time to get Sally and Abi to the train. We went in a bit early to see Nic and pick up last minute bits and pieces then I said a teary goodbye. It was such a fantastic week and I loved every bit of it :-D

I had to take Ruby back to the vets this morning and although she is in better form and the swelling under her neck is gone it has moved to the right side of her face and is a bit hard and she can't open her mouth very wide. The vet says the swelling is bigger than yesterday so decided to sedate her again and take x-rays and possibly a biopsy if they find anything. Poor thing has been through the mill since we got her but she's a fighter and I'm sure she'll be fine.

After all that I'm sure you've lost the will to live but I've got a card to show you so hang on for just a bit longer lol.

This is another one of the Christmas Jack and Robyn samples I made a while back...

I still haven't heard from the winners of the candy but have decided to give it a full week for them to get in touch so if I haven't heard anything by 12 noon on Monday August 1st I will re-draw 2 winners :-D Also I've some exciting news to tell you tomorrow so make sure you check back...I think you'll like it :-D

Squidgi Digi

This has GOT to be quick because I should be tidying my house right now for my guests coming tonight. They said they'd be here about midnight but with my luck they'll have got away early and ring the bell at 7!!!

My superly duperly fabulicious co-ordinator Lisa has a mega talented daughter Beth who has opened her own digi store Squidgi Digi selling her own images. I bought some months ago but until now haven't had a chance to play with them. It's my nephew's birthday on the 26th (please note it is the 22nd today and that makes me....EARLY lol) and I thought this was the perfect time to use Beth's images :-D

I settled for the male campervan, beach huts and swirl surfboard (which sell for a bargain price of £1.25 each!!) for my card and this is what I came up with....

I had to make a delivery to Craft World the other day (which I left on my upstairs windowsill doh!) and June, Carol and Gail were pricing up some goodies. One of them was a new Bo Bunny 6 x 6 paper pad Barefoot and Bliss...perfect for the theme of my card :-D

The sand is actual sand from Nicole's trip to Australia. Not sure if it was such a good idea to use it and will probably be a the bottom of the envelope when Mark opens it!

I used a glaze pen instead of my usual Glossy Accents on the surfboards and I applied the sand before it had dried completely hence the sand on the boards. I was about to brush it off when I thought it looked pretty realistic no?

This is just one of 5 sentiments, two surfboards and a flower that are one of the digi's...all that for £1.25!!

I hope you like it, I hope Beth and Lisa like it and most importantly I hope my nephew likes it AND my SIL isn't annoyed with the sand lol!!

Right...gotta split. Have a great weekend. Don't forget to add yourself as a follower if you want a chance to win the candy!!! It all ends at midnight tonight.

More Christmas Jack and Robyn

It's almost the weekend and I have visitors coming tomorrow. Thankfully they're not arriving until midnight so I can get the house tidied AFTER I've made a card. Like how I've got my priorities straight lol?
I have a few card samples of the new Christmas Jack and Robyn stamps that I thought I'd show you. I made these quite a while ago so it's great seeing them again and now I'm itching to ink them up again.

This is one of them...I LOVE this card...probably because of it's simplicity and the colours. Tell me what you think...

This image cracks me up...I love Jack's shocked expression. I ran some Co-oredination's cs through an embossing folder on my Cuttlebug and scuffed up the snow so you'd see it better. After colouring in the image I attacked it with my favourite snow glitter and added the Gotcha! sentiment that comes with the set. I found the button in a pack at the back of a drawer. I bought them a year or so ago and thought I'd lost them or surely not, thrown them out by mistake!

It's not all that long till Christmas...isn't it scary how fast this year has gone by. I promised myself at the beginning of the year I'd make one or two Christmas cards a week so I wasn't stressing at the beginning of December. But I guess I must strive on stress these days because I haven't been fulfilling my promise lol.
I went for a run this morning and look who were cheering me on....

This one was behind the other cow in the first picture. After I'd taken the first one, she obviously wanted a picture taken on her own so just as I was about to set off she walked up to the fence and who was I to deny her lol.

I had a power meeting this morning (oooh don't I sound all business like lol) for some new images that I KNOW you're going to love. I've been teasing the DT so hopefully it won't be long until I can show them to you!

We're almost at the finish line for the Blogaversay candy...only today and tomorrow to sign up for a chance to win some flabulous stash. You might want to check out Ladybug Pam's blogaversary candy too....it's almost a year since she has started blogging!!

You know those one or two cards I said I was going to make yesterday? Didn't happen hmph. I've got a partial of one on the go so I'm going to try and get it finished now.

Have a great day :-D

Free...One 3 legged Boxer with a mind of her own!

Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby...no not the song....but my gorgeous pup. She is perfect in every way except 2...she's a greedy girl and she just takes off and doesn't come back till she feels like it. Is she a typical female lol??? Ryan was took Rocky and ruby out for their last walk so I could get an early night. I got settled in bed at 10:30 with my new craft magazines and a brochure and got as far as the inside front cover of one when the phone rang. Ruby apparently was missing and had been for about 15 minutes. So out of bed I get, grab my jacket and in my jammies and flip flops went out to help look for her. As it was late we couldn't very well whistle too loudly (I have a pretty mean whistle which Suzy Q can vouch for) or shout so it was a case of whispering....Ruby...Ruby... Ruuuuubeeeeeeeeeeee! After 10 minutes I went back home with Rocky and grabbed a flashlight and headed back up in the car. Still no sign of her after another 15 minutes...I had visions of meeting the postman in my jammies lol. The hubster loves his bed so was quite surprised to see him coming around the corner to join in with the hunt. FINALLY in the distance with her 3 legs carrying her as fast as they could, we see Ruby...no where near where we were looking lol. Needless to say she got a ticking off and no treat... two things I know she doesn't like!

Earlier after dinner I took them to CB and took a couple of videos of the pair of them chasing stones I was throwing. Rocky is hilarious...I think he's part kangaroo! Have a look....

Oooooh I hate my voice!

Right...I'm off to make a card or two :-D

Lisa says...

....we should have a reminder about the Summer Birthday's challenge and who am I to argue! Any excuse to make a card I say lol.

Summer screams bright and sunny (not that it's very bright or sunny in Glasgow today hmph) so of course that's what I went with. I don't think you need your sunnies but maybe be prepared just in
case :-D

I find all my cards are pretty much straight...all lines going the same way and lately I've seen a lot of 'off kilter' mounting. Yesterday I was over at Susan's blog and she had made a flabulous 'off kilter' card and I thought it was about time I made one too.

I love Magnum and Lily so thought I'd dig them out. The pp was in the box where I found this...I'm on a bit of a recycling kick I guess. Instead of mounting the green check pp I sewed it directly onto the main pp. The only think I'd change is to mount the stripey pp onto the same lilac cs I mounted the image on. Of course I didn't check to see if I had more before I'd stuck it down hence no mount.

I've got a few birthdays coming up so now I've got to decide who will be getting this one.

Only a couple of days left to enter to win the Blogaversary candy. Welcome to my most recent followers...you're VERY welcome!

Have a few jobs to do this afternoon so I must fly.

Save the date!

Thank you all (I seem to be saying that a lot lately lol) for your lovely emails and comments of my last post. It's funny because you KNOW you're not the only one going through it but it feels like it so it was great to read your stories and suggestions. I'm going to give 'Angus' some time to kick in but I'll have your remedies on standby just in case lol.

I'm sure part of the problem has been trying to find a venue for Nicole and Ben's wedding. I didn't think it would be THIS stressful ... finding Nic's dress was a piece of cake in comparison and maybe I thought/hoped it was all going to be as easy lol. Anyway after many miles and about 17 venues viewed and discarded I can finally say we have a venue...and a date!!! That sounds silly but you can't pick the date without the venue because more times than not that date will be booked.

Now we have the date I figured it was time to start getting organised the with invites etc. Nowadays they send a Save The Date card and I had no intentions of doing them as I will have enough on my plate with the invitations, menus and everything else that goes with it. Well, you can guess I'm now doing them so over the weekend I had a play and this is the final card that will be going out....

It's nothing fancy...quite simple really but Nic loves it. We're not really very frou frou lol. It's 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 and will have a magnet on the back so you can put it on your fridge and it won't get lost in a drawer. I'm not sure exactly how many I have to make yet...they're still finalising the guest list (another headache!) but I won't make the same mistake I did when I ordered my invitations. We were inviting 110 people and I orderded 110 invitations doh!!!

That's another 2 boxes ticked on this wedding adventure only a gazillion more to go lol.

Thanks for popping in today...hello to my new followers that signed up this weekend....my there were a lot of you lol!

Menopausal Moments or Psycho Bitch?

Apologies for the 'B' word in the title but I couldn't think of anything more appropriate to describe me at the moment lol. For a while now...maybe 4 or 5 months I have been all over the place. One minute I'm my normal happy self then in the blink of an eye I'm so low you need to scrape me off the floor. On the low days I can waste an entire morning or afternoon doing nothing but playing Whirly Word (note to self: remove from phone and ipad!) ... I can't be bothered with anything, no energy and I know my face is tripping me....I feel like I'm going to combust! My memory is more shocking than normal...concentration almost non-existent and feel teary at the drop of a hat. I don't want to see or talk to anyone...I have to force myself to socialise. This is hard as I LOVE my friends and I'm sure they must be wondering who stole the real Kerry and replaced her with a PB!!!

I suppose that was one of the reasons I started running and got back into Zumba as everyone knows (or should) exercise is a great form of 'feel good'. And it does but the 'feel good' is lasting less and less. Yesterday I was in great form...I went for a run then met up with Suzy Q at CB with the pups. The sun was shining and life was great. By the time I got home (less than 10 minutes) I could feel myself slipping and the rest of the day was torture. It has been in the back of my mind that I am at an age (47) that menopause could be knocking at my door. Not sure if I've had a proper hot flush as when they've happened in bed all I have to do is stick my leg out of the covers and things go back to normal lol. I know I haven't been my sparklicious self or fun to live with so today I took myself off to Holland & Barratt (thought I'd try the natural route before going to the doctors), marched in (literally) and verballed all to the poor woman behind the till lol. It was obvious she's had plenty like me come in ... she didn't bat an eye and marched me (literally) over to a row of green bottles that will hopefully be my (or should I say my family's) saviour....Angus Cactus Agnus Castus! She thoroughly explained how it works....told me a story of how she put her daughter on it when she was 17 as she was a she-devil a week out of every month and her son locked himself away in his room for self protection lol. So here's hoping it will start to kick in asap and I'll start feeling fabulicious again :-D If anyone reading this recognises themself and has found a solution other than drugs please email me ... I'll try anything within reason lol!!!

If you're still with me after that well done lol!!! This is one of my catch up's ... my neighbour's son got married recently...not once but twice! First was in a registrar's office in Edinburgh then in a beautiful chateau in France. Of course I had to make a card and Bride Nikki was begging to be inked again...

I hope you're not bored with my WOW wedding cards...I just love making them :-D

Here are a couple of pictures of Rocky and Ruby at CB the other day...

You got a bit of everything today lol. We're on the homestretch for the Blogaversary candy...I can't thank you enough for your wonderful comments and adding yourselves to my magnifilicious followers list. I am so overwhelmed and think I've set myself a HUGE task of sorting out new from old etc for the 3 prizes lol. I hope you'll stick around to see the final piece of candy I'm adding on Friday because it's flabulous!! I will  take the weekend to sort everything and announce the winners on Monday 25th...I'm so excited I can't stand it!!!

You'll be glad that's it for today :-D I hope you have a great weekend whatever you do

Whose Birfday is it?

Today should be a holiday...an international holiday... because it HAS to be THE mostest specialistist day of the WHOLE calendar year. I think it might even outshine Christmas it's THAT special. So I'm sure you're wondering what is so special about today? Well I'll tell you..... it is Mary Poppins aka Ladybug Michele's birfday!!

Can we all join in and sing please....

Happy birfday to you, happy birfday to you, happy birfday dear MPee-eeeeee, happy birfday toooooooo youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! Hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray!!!

ROFL...Michele has been telling us Bugs on a DAILY basis for the last MONTH that her birfday was coming up...she's been the biggest kid EVER!! She's obviously still a young thing to be that excited lol. Of course her card will be late (it is on it's way) but I'm posting it here today so she knows it's coming. For several reasons there was only ONE image I could use for her card and that was a Cupcake Cutie because if you haven't noticed she uses it a LOT and she loves the frosting and sprinkles I use when I make mine. She's ALWAYS hmphing cuz she hasn't got my fabulicious tiny microbeads.

Here's your card Michele...I hope you like it ....

What do you think of these toppings...yummalicious or what! We've got Fluffy Stuff and micro beads at the top, next Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust with a GA'd cherry and the bottom two are coloured with copics, then GA'd and sprinkled with micro beads. Also two of the liners are paper pieced.

Just in case she forgot lol

I do hope you have the bestest of birfday's Michele. I am exhausted from all the prep and I was so worried I'd forget...not a chance lol! Please do go over and visit Michele and wish her a happy birthday :-D

BTW...in case you didn't get it...that was my news lol

Monday, 11 July 2011

Thankfully I think I've finally caught up with my cards :-D It was my DBLS's (darling big little sister) birthday on the 27th of June so comparing it to the rest of the late cards this one is positively on time. I don't feel too bad about this one because she's ALWAYS late with my cards so that makes us even ... I know even at 47 and 49 we're na na na-ing ... typical sisters lol.

ANYWHO I managed to get into my workroom and came up with this...

I don't know if many of you know this but Original Nikki was the first image I saw when her illustrator emailed over the sketches when I started LCI so I have a real soft spot for her. I saw her through my fingers because I was so excited and couldn't bare to look incase I didn't like her but of course it was love at first sight with just a bit of tweaking.

There's something about her that I just adore

Now the card is made I need to find a little prezzie to go with it then get it mailed. Unfortunately I don't have the postal strike for an excuse any more!

It's a glorious day here. I had the pups up at CB this morning and we had a great walk. Ruby disappeared for a bit which is unlike her. A fellow walker found her and she came flying over the hill licking her lips which can only mean one thing...she was eating horse poo! I don't know what they find so apetizing about horse poo but obviously it didn't agree with her as she was soon eating grass by the mouthful and brought it all back up...ewwwwwwwwwwwww...apologies if you're having breakfast/lunch/dinner while you're reading this lol. The joys of being a dog owner :-D

I do hope you'll come back tomorrow because it is probably THE most special day of the year...even more than Christmas! I think it might even become an international holiday and will be forever stamped on our calendars. What is it? Can't tell you but pop back tomorrow to find out! For me personally...I can't wait till it's over lol!

Hope you have a flabulous week and the sun is shining wherever you are :-D

VERY Last Minute Annie!

You all know by now that I've been pretty late with birthdays recently but I think this one takes the cake! It was my friend Jean's birthday May 16 and although I was in Vancouver at the time I did have the intention of making her card and getting Nicole to mail it closer to the day. Well, you'll know that didn't happen and since I've been home I've been playing catch up KWIM. We finally had a lunch date for Thursday just past and there was NO WAY I was arriving without Jean's card so once I dropped the dogs off at doggy daycare I came home and set to work. Yup, you read right...I made it 2 hours before we were due to meet!!! I know Jean will be reading this and I am hanging my head in shame but thankfully she knows what I'm like (though she did say when I gave it to her that when she'd been reading my blog and was seeing cards for OTHER's being made she wondered if she'd EVER get one lol) and is very forgiving and I do pay her handsomely to be my friend...ok that last one isn't true lol.

So having only 2 hours (that's quick for me!) this is what I came up with...

Balloon Ruby hadn't seen ink in ages so she got inked and coloured up.

It's amazing what you see when you PS pictures...like how bad your colouring is! This isn't one of my finest but as I am shaming myself I thought I might as well show you. Don't even get me started with the balloon!

THIS I'm proud of...look at that sewing! I cut a thin piece of card and zigzagged over it and it turned out pretty darn good IMHO!

It had been a good few months since we'd met up so we had a lot of catching up to do. We have a great friendship where we just pick up where we left off which I think are the best friendships to have :-D

My followers are creeping up and I am so delighted and thankful...do you think we can make it to 300??? Just kidding lol.

Have a great weekend
