Random question..

This has nothing to do with crafting but this has been bugging me for months and months.

Can anyone tell me how someone who is 5' 3" tall and weighs 10 stone (140 lbs) and is a size 10 and I'm 5' 8" and weigh the same but I'm a size 12??? I read these slimming success stories and they're all shorter than me but weigh the same or more but wear a size smaller!! Have I missed something or are they delusional???

Back later with a crafty post...thanks for indulging me :-D

Catch ya later x

Hey Kerry, the fact that they are shorter probably lets them get into smaller clothes too. it's just one of those things I guess.
Not sure if this confuses matters more but I used to take a regular 18 in trousers (Dorothy Perkins) but when I lost weight last year I had to get 12 long... nothing's simple when it comes to clothes x

When weighing myself, I find lying on my back with my feet in the air, them positioning the scales on my feet gives a much more satisfactory reading!

Maybe it depends where they buy their clothes. I'm a size 12 and 5'2" (weigh about 10 stone), but I can go from a size 10 to a size 14 depending on where I buy my clothes - crazy but true!

Clothes size much depend on the brand, and the shape of the fit. Some people have large hips, for some others it's the thighs, and the clothes fit is very different!

I've noticed the same hun lol i think it just depends on where you carry your weight, where you shop and how the machines cut and stitched the clothes that particular day (I have 2 pairs of jeans exact same design and one pair is a 12 and one is a 14)

ps lindsey's weighting method is perfect lol or else I find not wearing my glasses also helps I can imagine the numbers say whatever I want that way.

My Motto is - size is but a number - just like my age .. and i tend to ignore both!!!!

if i like it , and it fits i dont care what size it is!! I have a range of sizes in my wardrobe .. so which one is right is anyones guess!!
And if i was a size 12 i wouldn't worry lol!

Size is just a number!! A friend of mine claims she isn't overweight - just way too short!!

It's one onf those things! I bought jeans a few months ago (5'3" about 10.5 stone usually a 12 - sometimes a 14) Took the 12 to try on but it wouldn't get past my hips. Tried the 14 in exactly the same jean and I can take it off without unfastening the butoon and zip!!!!

Its the same with bra sizes. Im a 30FF and wear size 12/14 depanding on style and fabric. But you read about girls being 34f and wearing size 8 clothes. Makes no sense to me so I've given up trying.

it's just body types Kerry.... you've got a hot body and thats all that matters! don't weigh yourself... it's not the # it's how your clothes feel.

Very weird logic! Anyway, you're gorgeous as you are so I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe the 5'3 is embellishing the truth a bit lol! xx
