TLT - Pami's Challenge - It's a male thing

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo....it's that time again. What I want to know is .... how many Tuesdays are in a week? Because I'm sure it was only Tuesday the other day lol.

It's a brand new week which means a brand new challenge and it's our very bossy lovely Pam's turn. But before I launch into my schpeel I want to welcome our Guest Designer Julie who will be here for this month while Hayley is on sabbatical. Please make sure you give Julie a warm Ladybug welcome. Gaelle is off this week but hopes to return next week...well she better cuz it's her challenge lol.

Ok, like I said it's Pam's challenge and she's picked something that we all dread...male cards! But hey...we just have to suck it up and get on with it...that's why it's called a challenge!!

I wanted to use an image that I haven't used  in a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time so I settled on Tom and
Snowman....my first Christmas card of the year... yaaaaayyyy me!!!

I was really happy with this until I got a bit carried away with the glitter {gasp} Can you believe I actually said that??? You all know how much I love my glitter but there is a time and a place for it and it wasn't on Snowman's scarf hmph. So now I'm really peeved at myself and can barely look at the card.

Now how ridiculous does Snowman look with his silly hat and scarf...I don't know why he's smiling :-(

I can't look!

I quite like the inside though

Moving swiftly on, thank you to everone who entered Anita's challenge. You girls outdid yourselves but now you have to ask the question....am I a winner??? Well there's one way to find out...hop on over to the Challenge Blog and check it out and if you are the top winner email me with your choice of stamp (£6.50 value) and where you'd like it sent :-D

Now for something really exciting! It's my blogaversary soon...45 days to be exact. I know it might seem like a long way off but with the way the days are flying in, it will be here before you know it. I want to celebrate it in style so what I'm going to do is offer some candy...in fact EVERY day for 45 days I'm going to add something to the pot. It might be a length of ribbon or a stamp or even some flowers but by the time those 45 days are up there is going to be one heck of a pile of candy lol. Now I'm sure you're wondering what the catch is...well what I'd like is for you to leave a comment on the post that will stay at the top of the page. You can just say hi or you can leave me a story but all these comments will go into a pot (or I can figure out how the random org thingamajig works) and I'll pick one name out and that person will win the whole shebang!!! Oh and one more thing....I'd really love to get to 200 followers. At the moment I have 162 so for even more excitement I will pick one of my new 38 followers and they will win a prize!!! Ok, now the previous 162 followers are probably thinking...hmph, what's the point if we're not in to win. Wellllllll...I'll also pick one of you to win a little prizy poo too!!! Now is that everyone covered because I don't want any moaning about favourtism lol. Last but not least I'll be making up a little badge that you can put on your blog to spread the word :-D

Are you ready to see what the first piece of candy is????

Ta dah!! It's a KI Memories pad called Groovy and it is scrumptious! Hmmm...I wonder what I should add tomorrow??? Well, you're just gonna have to come back and see :-D

Hope you enjoy what the DT has to offer you this week. I think they've done a flabulous job and I'm sure you'll be inspired so why not drop them a comment and tell them.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day :-D

Happy Birthday Tams!

I have definitely decided when  if I get a new DT I'm going to take them on based on when their birthday is as straight off the back of Pinky and Amanda's, it's Tam's birthday today!!! Happy birthday old girl...I hope your day is megaliciously flabulous :-D

I had a bit more time for Tam's card though that worries me because I don't normally have extra time as I'm always Last Minute Annie and up to my eyeballs more times than not. I'm now thinking I've forgotten to do something :-S Oh well, I'll worry about that when the time comes.

I was on Lyndsey's tutorial blog again as I'd been eyeing up her Free Standing Pop-up Card. It looked far too complicated for me but when I found I had this 'extra time' I thought I'd give it a bash. Normally I have a practise run but decided to go for it in a one-er and surprisingly it worked lol. This is what I came up with...

I think the next time I'll have to either a) use heavier cs b) not put so much on the pop up part or c) weigh the base down with pennies because it's not very sturdy though that has nothing to do with the design. After I finished this one I wasn't all that crazy about the buttons so I changed the for ....

my new flower! I love this one so much better although I left the buttons on the front edge of the base. Again I used my gorgeous new pp from BG

What I would do to have a soak in the tub!

I went a bit mad with the GA but I love the look of the tub.

I LOVE this flower...I used another one of Tam's flowers for the middle and added a bit of GD...it's really pretty with a bit of sparkle :-D

We had a great time at Sally's birthday party...nothing to raucous now that she's 40 lol. She was VERY surprised when the curtain was pulled back and we started singing Happy Birthday and she looked  beautiful (no weight gain that I was hoping for hmph!). After the pub lunch we went back to theirs for more fun and some singing. Their daughter's Amber and Abi wrote Sally and song and Amber sang it along with a few other songs. She's only 14 and has a beautiful voice...you can hear her HERE singing First Love by Adele. We're hoping she'll sing at Nicole and Ben's wedding...we want to book her now before her prices go up lol.

I've put my run off long enough so I'd better hit the road. Make sure you check in for tomorrow's TLT. I've got a few things up my sleeve that you might like :-D

Have a great Monday!

Happy Birthday Sal!

At the time of this post OH and I will have arrived at our friend Sally's surprise birthday lunch and she will be just about walking in the pub and hopefully be ...well ... surprised lol. We have been great friends with Martin and Sally for over 20 years and I've been looking forward to this day forever! Sally is beautiful both inside and out and she seems to get better with age. Whenever we visit I pray she's put on a stone or two (14-28 lbs) and has more lines than a Scor-pal but she always looks flabulous.

Lucky I was delivering her card because I only started making it last night lol. Although I don't dislike it, it wasn't what I had in my head. It is growing on me and hopefully when she opens it I'll fall in love :-D

I used my favourite BG pp of the moment Sweet Threads along with Make A Wish Nikki and Sentimental Numbers.

My lovely friend Susan came to my rescue and sent me the flabulous new MFT die. I ordered it when I was home thinking we would arrive back in Glasgow together but I'm still waiting hmph. Susan and I made a pact that we would order 2 each in case one of us couldn't get the die.The pink flower in the middle is one of a bunch that Tams sent me months ago. Now don't think she was being nice...oh no...she knew at that time I hated {shock horror} flowers and she thought she was being funny by sending me some. See what I have to put up with!!!

Thanks for dropping in...hope you're basking in the glorious sunshine. Remember your sun cream!!

Thursday Post Part II

Just spoke to DLS and apparently the game was NAIL BITING to the extreme. There are 3 x 20 minute periods in a hockey game and the Canucks scored with 18 seconds left in the 3rd period!!!! Roll on Saturday :-D

It was my sil and bil's 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday...card was late (nothing unusual lol) as I was only making it the night before and it was going to Ireland! Maybe they'll get it tomorrow :-D Anywho, this is what I did...

I apologise for the bad pictures...my new lighting tent lights don't seem to be as strong as my last ones. I used Sentimental Numbers (this is such a versatile set...not just for kids cards) and stamped them out with Versamark, sprinkled with silver embossing powder and heat embossed. I've had the flabby embossing folder for years and have only used it a couple of times. Don't know why as I love it. Rolled some flowers, added some clear Swarovski crystals and sprayed the whole thing (minus the 25) with SU! shimmer paints. You can't really see it in the photos but it is absolutely gorgeous and totally changes the look of the card. I had an idea of how I wanted to do the sentiment on the front but it wasn't working out so I just left it. Maybe I should have just put congratulations?

The flowers are so pretty with the shimmer paint. I put GA on the numbers then sprinkled with GD.

I tried to get an angle for you to see the shimmer but don't think you can see it hmph.

Like I said in my previous post I went for a mani/pedicure and spray tan courtesy of Groupon. It's a relatively new manicure called Gellux and basically it's gel painted on and set with a UV light machine and it's supposed to last up to 10 days. I got a french manicure on my hands and orange on my toes and both are flabulous...so shiny :-D So then I had the spray tan. I thought it was going to be a booth you stand in, press a button and spray. Um...no! I had to strip down (if you've just eaten please stop reading now!) and put on the thong panties (which I put on the wrong way and wondered why they looked different lmao), hairnet and nothing else...talk about feeling vulnerable! Louise came into the room and although I'm not normally a shy person I didin't know where to look...I was holding my stomach in till it ached hoping that my recent jogging activity was showing lol. She was very chatty which was just as well because silence would have been horrendous lol. So now I'm turning a lovely shade of brown...very natural...just in time for the sun coming out hmph!

That's me for today...hope you've had a good day so far...we're almost at the weekend yaaaayyyyy!!

Woo Hoo!!!

Yee haw....WE WON 1-0!!!!!

Just up so don't know any details as DLS didn't email hmph. Next game is Saturday so let's keep on winning Canucks!!

Have a spray tan and nails booked for this morning bought through Groupon for only £20 regularly £55. I'm tired of being pale and judging by the weather forecast this is the only way I'm going to get a tan. I'll be back later with a card.

Go Canucks Go!!!

The Stanley Cup

Today is the first game of the final of the Stanley Cup....it's the Vancouver Canucks vs Boston Bruins. Now for those of you who haven't a scooby of what I'm talking about it can only be one the ICE HOCKEY!!! When I was home the Canucks (my home team of course) were working their way through Nashville Predators then San Jose Sharks. At first I wasn't all that interested but it wasn't long before I was shouting and cheering (though not as much as The Judy!!)...I'd forgotten how exciting hockey can be. It's such a fast and physical game and how some of the players manage to get up after being slammed into the boards is a miracle! When I was growing up I actually loved Boston because of a player called Bobby Orr...I thought he was absolutely gorgeous lol.

This will be the 3rd attempt by the Canucks to win the Stanley Cup and let's hope it's third time lucky!! I had an email last night from a lovely lady, Celia, who I met at Precious Memories when I was demonstrating, telling me that the pizza chain Boston Pizza have changed their name to Vancouver Pizza for the game!!! Even DLS has cancelled her 5 o'clock appointments over the final series so she can watch the games...I think the streets of Vancouver will be deserted tonight lol. I found the game on ESPN tomorrow so although I'll probably know the score I'll watch it anyway.

Quite a bit of this goes on...it's almost like dancing on ice lol.

The game starts at 1 am Thursday our time and I'm sure I'll be too excited to sleep...best of luck boys!!

TLT - Anita's Challenge - Make Your Own Embellies

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo and welcome to another Totally Ladybug Tuesday! Hope you've all had a good week and didn't get blown about too much. It's been pretty blustery (is that a word??) most of the week here and I'm crossing my fingers and toes that we'll start getting better (warmer, drier, sunnier) weather

This week is our flabulous Ladybug Anita's turn to choose our challenge and I love it...make your own embellishments! There's so much to choose from...flowers, flowers...did I mention flowers??? LOL...believe it or not I didn't make flowers for this challenge...I did something totally new...I made epoxy dots!!! Have a looksee and tell me what you think....

I was a bit of a multi-tasker and combined the challenge with Amanda's birthday card. Her birthday was Sunday and by all accounts she had a flabulous day :-D I used my new KI pp which I LOVE and my new embossing folder.

I thought I'd try something different for the flower on The Flip Flops and used FS with my micro beads

These are my epoxy dots...super cute. I bought 2 sizes of the Ephiphany Crafts expoxy dot maker...this one is SST-02 Roiund 14. They are so easy, quick and fun to make...I used the same KI pp as the front of the card.

I finished off the inside Mary J style

Thank you to everyone who entered last weeks challenge ...we had flabulous entries so make sure you head over to the Challenge Blog to see if you're one of the winners. If you're the overall winner email me with the stamp you'd like (£6.50 value) and where you'd like it sent :-D

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this weeks challenge!

Thanks for stopping by
