TLT - Julie's Challenge - No Designer Paper AND Stamp Of The Month!!

Happy October peeps...glad you've managed to pop in today. Can someone tell me where the last 9 months have gone??? It's very scary that we're already in October.

We have a bit of an exciting day for a number of reasons.  Before I tell you about it I want to thank everyone who joined in with Amanda's challenge last week of Fall and/or Fancy Folds. I for one LOVE fall colours...they're so rich and warm...kinda like a hug without arms lol. To see if you're one of the winners pop on over the the Challenge Blog and claim your stamp or top 3 badge!
Why is today exciting??? First it's Julie's first time to chose the challenge and I know there were a few panic attacks among the team (cough Pam) when Julie announced it...No designer paper!!! I've made plenty of cards without using pp and it's not been a problem but when you know you can't that's when it becomes a challenge lol. The other reason for the excitement is here at LCI we're starting a Stamp Of The Month deal. Every first Tuesday of the month all the team will be using the same image and for that month you'll be able to purchase the stamp for 1/2 price!!! How does that sound?
October's SOTM is Nikki Running With Buttercup! This has to be one of my favourite Nikki stamps (shh don't tell the others!) and I love it for a couple of reasons. 1) there's very little to colour 2) Buttercup is too stinkin' cute 3) it begs to be glittered!!

I saw a card in one of the recent Christmas magazines which was like a stained glass window and although I didn't want to do that exactly it kinda went that way without the stained glass. Confused?? Me too lol. Have a look and you might see what I mean...

I'm sure this is a tent card and I've used acetate instead of cs and cutting an aperature. I coloured Nikki in with my Copics and because you can see in the back of the card as well I coloured two images, cut them out with my Nesties and stuck them together so the back didn't look ugly. I cut and scored the acetate in half but before I folded it (from experience I find it easier to stamp before folding) I stamped snowflakes in white Versamark ink on the inside so it looks like Nikki & Buttercup are in the middle of a snowfall (if you look closely you can just about see them) I suspended the image with clear thread and to hide the hole and the thread I cut icicles with my new Marianne die I bought from Tracy at Dies to Die For. I ran turquoise cs through my Cuttlebug with a snow embossing folder and my gorgeous felt snowflakes with my new dies also from Tracy. I stamped the sentiment and mounted in on turquose cs

Can you see me taking the picture lol??? See what I mean about the glitter...sparklicious!!

I couldn't avoid the glare on the acetate but wanted to show you what the card looked like from the side. There's nowhere as such to sign the card but I'm sure you could add a tag or print a sentiment on the computer and put in on the lower back turquoise strip or instead of Merry Christmas put your 'signed' sentiment there.

Swoon...you gotta love the felt snowflakes :-D
I hope you like our SOTM and what the girls have come up with. Remember for the month of October you can purchase Nikki Running With Buttercup for £3.50 (rrp £6.99) I think it's great to see the different ideas the Ladybugs have come up with using the same image.

That's it from me for today. Hope you have a great rest of Tuesday.

Catch ya later x

your card is absolutely stunning Kerry. Sorry I'm not around much, my patient is very demanding and the house has a constant stream of visitors who need tea!
