This and that

I think I'm almost recovered from my mad week and a bit...I wouldn't mind a few more hours sleep but as I keep saying...you're a long time dead and I'll catch up then!!
Monday was Rhianna night so after making Shepherd's pie for the boys I caught the train into town and met Nicole and Ciara and we went to Yo Sushi for some dinner (Ben is the manager). I never had sushi until recently...I thought it was all about raw fish but they've got some yummy teriyaki chicken and a pumpkin something-or-other that is de-lish!
We got to the SECC in time to see the support act, Calvin Harris, who was brilliant. I'd never been to see a DJ before...I could feel all my major organs vibrating lol. When Rhianna came on the crowd went crazy. She is absolutely stunnalicious...there should be a law against looking as good as she did hmph. My only complaint of the night was we were in the standing section....NEVER again! Thankfully I wore flat boots but my back was killing me at the end. Here are a couple of pictures from the concert...

I was wondering why all the umbrella's were going up doh!

Here's something exciting I've wanted to tell you for AGES! Remember back in June when my stamps were the free gift in the Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine? Well, I was asked to do the Australian Simply Cards and it went on sale in Australia yesterday!!!

Can you see me taking the picture lol??? The magazine chose the images and re-sized them so they're about 1/2 the size normal. I don't think you can get the magazine here but if you're off on your hols to Oz you might be able to pick up a copy :-D In this months issue of the UK Simply Cards and Papercraft there's a free Designer Card booklet with someone in it you might just recognise lol!!

I was speaking to my friend Gail yesterday and she told me she's going on her first long haul holiday on Monday!!! I offered her some homeopathic jet lag pills I had left over from my trip home this year. Instead of sending just the pills I decided to make her the quickest card I've ever made in my life lol.

I had the perfect image in Magnum & Lily on Holiday....see what you think...

I turned it into a postcard and as I didn't have much time to colour it in I just stamped it and added a touch of glitter to the drinks, water, shells and coconuts. Oh...and a bit of GA to the sunglasses and Magnums nose. After sewing it onto a piece of black cs and mounting it onto white cs I decided I would stamp the sentiment using my most favouritest Love Letters alphabet set from PSX. Was I confident or crazy??? Probably the latter but I held my breath until I stamped the final * and breathed a huge sigh of relief when I finished without making a hash of it :-D I stuck a couple of magnets on the back so Gail can put it on her fridge if she wants. When I say quick, I mean quick. I think it took all of 10 minutes (including drying time) from conception to final application of the magnets!

That's me for today...don't forget you can purchase the SOTM...Nikki Running with Buttercup for 1/2 price...you can get a head start on those cards....you know the ones for that festive season!
Have a good one!
Catch ya later x

Love this quick card - sometimes the quickest ones i like the best .. sometimes i think i spend too long agonising over what to do and what not to do!
Its really effective!

Agree with Lisa Jane that quick cards can give amazing results! I quite like your B/W card, including the stamped sentiments. Did those 10 minutes include this neat stitching?!
You've certainly been a very busy lady lately!
It must be wonderful to see your images on the cover of an Australian craft magazine. I'd better send an e-mail to my best (Dutch) friend in Sydney to send me a copy for my birthday, lol.

Well done! The image in the magazine are great. Shame I'm not going on my hols to Australia....lol
Your card looks great without the colour. You've inspired me, I'm going to give it a try.

I think you need a couple of months off now from partying to prepare for the Xmas festivities! Looks like you had a lot of fun! Your daughter is so beautiful - just like her mum!

I love this make - totally brilliant and I am going to have to steal the idea for a DT challenge that it will fit perfectly!

Hope you have a restful weekend lined up!
