'Chick' it out!

So...have you noticed anything different about my blog? {head twitching to the top right}I'M A KRAFTY CHICK woo hoo!!! And can I tell ya'll...I didn't even have to bribe Jeanie {doing a little dance} lolololol. I got the confirmation email from the chickalicious Jeanie last week and to say I was excited is an understatement. It was for this card ... it was the first time I'd inked up this gorgeous little guy so I'm dead chuffed with myself lol.

I got a last minute invitation yesterday to attend a SU! get together not far from where I live. I went to one last year and it was great fun...this one was no different. We made these three projects...

A couple of things about this picture a) it doesn't do the card justice by a long shot and b) I just realised the bit of ribbon on the right has become detached :-( This was good fun to make. The ribbon is flabulous, the colour we used was Baja Breeze and we pulled one of the threads to make it rousched (sp??)...cool huh.

This is an exciting  product...it's glass glitter and it's full of gorjossity! Again it's Baja Breeze and just so yummy.

We made this little box using the Bigz Scallop Envelope die that's exclusive to SU!

and finally we made this pillow box. This is super cute...I love the little acetate window we created using the Decorative Label Punch. Any of you who know SU! will know that everything coordinates so of course with this punch there is a stamp set. Ribbon, markers, cs, glass glitter all match. If money was no object I'm sure I could have spent hunners and hunners of £'s lol!! The SU! girls were great and I got reacquainted with one of them who I met at the last one (she wasn't a demonstrator then) and was already one of my followers! Hello Susan {waving}...sorry I didn't recognise you !!

Jean's sister's daughter's daughter (are you still with me?) had a little boy last week so I pulled out my Baby Baby set and made a card for him (you'll see it next week). I then thought I'd make one for Jean to give to her niece since it will be a while before she gets out of hospital. This is what I came up with...

I love the way this turned out. I stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it with my Copics. I embossed a piece of Bazzill cs with my Cuttlebug baby embossing folder. Did a bit of stitching...cut some of my new Coconut Ice felt with my PTI scallop die. Threaded some jute through the buttons and attached them with a glue dot. I stamped the sentiment (from the Baby Baby set) and punched it with my SU! Word Window punch (if you don't have this punch...why not????) and finally I added some Fluffy Stuff for bubbles with a bit of glitter before fluffing it up with my heat gun. I hope Jean likes it and her niece as well.

Fluffy Stuff bubbles!

The Coconut Ice felt matched the Bazzill buttons perfectly!

Here's the inside ala Mary J

It is a gorgeous day here in Glasgow..I'm sure it must be at least 20C! It's totally tropical whereas last night it was freezing. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain and guess what's they're saying is going to be in the rain? Sand from the Sahara Desert!!! Who woulda thunk it?

After dinner I'm going to visit Jean. She's slowly improving after having a bad turn. It's funny but the nurses and doctors say she's doing great (very slowly) but Jean wouldn't agree as she feels so bad. They've reduced her oxygen and not having to syringe bile up from her stomach as often. I was there last week when the nurse was doing it and lets just say the room started to swim lol.

Ok...I'm heading out to the sun before it decides to go away. Hope you're all having a sunny day :-D

Catch ya later x
