Lyndsey's Challenge - Birthday

Hope you had a lovely weekend and the mother's in this neck of the woods had a fabtastic Mother's Day yesterday. Hubby's brother, wife and daughter were in St Andrews for a dinner dance at the Old Course and invited us all for lunch. I'd never been and it was lovely but it was FREEZING!! Afterwards we had afternoon tea which was no good to me as I've given up all cakes, cookies etc for Lent hmph!

Thank you to everyone who entered our For A Special Lady Challenge...we had an amazing amount of beautiful entries. Check out our Challenge blog to see if you were one of the winners

This fortnight we're using Cupcake Cuties digital images for Lyndsey's birthday challenge. I was feel extremely smug as I'd made my card last week. When I was writing up my post yesterday afternoon I thought I'd check the DT blog for any last minute changes and discovered I had used the wrong image!!!! I quickly had to throw this one together as I was going out with Sadie after dinner and knew I wouldn't have time to make a new card when I got back.

I've used Cherry on Top...

Maybe I should leave it to the last minute more often (oh yeah I usually do lol) cuz I really like how this turned out. After printing and colouring my Cupcake Cutie with Copics I cut it out with my MFT stitched circle dies (which I thought I'd thrown out but were where I put them all along even though I looked there half a dozen times!) I found some old Doodlebug pp and paper pieced the cupcake wrapper to match the background and after gluing it to the image made the fluffalicious frosting from Fluffy Stuff. Before I fluffed it with my  heat gun I sprinkled it with pink, gold and silver micro beads. The sentiment is from my new favourite sentiment stamp set from Paper Smooches. My new favourite embellishment of the moment are Doodlebug Sprinkles...the yummy enamel dots I've added for a little extra fun. I thought the sentiment was perfect for my stash as you all know I'm usually if not always late sending my cards lol.

You can really see the micro beads on the frosting here and the gorgeous Sprinkles. I've also added Glossy Accents to the cherry and WOS to her top, flower center and shoes.

I finished the inside to match the front.

Now for a Coen update .... these pictures and short video (19 seconds) are from St Andrews. As I said after lunch in the Jiggler pub we went into the hotel for afternoon tea. Hubby, Coen and I went first while the rest got their picture taken on the famous bridge on the 17th hole. We were greeted by a 7' bear and Coen absolutely loved him. Apparently he was the only child that didn't cry when he saw him lol.

I'm not sure who like the bear more...Grandpa or Coen lol

That's it from me for today. I'm working on some new stuff ... can't tell you what so don't bribe me with stash or nuffink cuz I ain't telling ;-D

Have a great week and I'll

Catch ya later x

Ah yes, belated birthday cards are my favourite as well LOL. I also find that it's sometimes a good thing to have little time to make a card, so don't waste any on worrying endlessly about every little detail...
Love the fluffy stuff ... and the pictures & video of course!

Fabby card, Kerry! Love the microbeads, great idea! Little Coen is a really brave boy protecting his Grandad from that big ol' bear!
