No Squares Midway Reminder

Good morning Peeps! Hope you're all well and have had a good weekend. Wasn't Sunday gorgeous...it was like a summer's day :-D

I think I have a bit of explaining to do with my card last week. The challenge is No Squares and it wasn't till AFTER it went live that I realized there wasn't one but THREE squares on my card!!! I'm surprised it took so long for at least a LADYBUG to point this out to me...perhaps the other's were afraid of my whip or Susan had a G & T for dutch courage before she mentioned it lol. There was a bit of a debate on the DT blog afterwards and Lyndsey (who chose the challenge) did say she meant the SHAPE of the card (it did say that on the challenge tab and was suggested I go to Specsavers hmph!)

Anywho...just thought I'd hold my hand up and wave the white flag lol.

Now this card doesn't have any squares (I think) but I'm not sure if I've posted it or not...I think I've got Grandma brain!!!!! I did look back and I didn't see it but I'm still not sure so if I have I apologize.

There is so much I love about this card...the image of course but also that fabulicious organza flower I was gifted for my birfday.

I think Billie would help anyone to feel better :-D

Isn't it organzalicious!!!

Be-still my heart...I LOVE this picture of Coen I took with my phone. This was the original ...

and this is what happened when I played with it a bit. I cropped it, changed it to black and white and gave it a bit of soft glow. You'd never think it was the same picture would you? I'm thinking of going professional rofl.

Hope Tuesday is good for you...I'm hoping to get a bit of crafting done. It's been forevah since I made anything :-(

No Squares Allowed!

No squares allowed????? Lyndsey, how could you do this to me??!!! For someone who rarely strays from a square card this was a real challenge for me. I did think I'd do a rectangle card but that really is just a square card that's been stretched lol.

Before I show you my card I want to thank everyone who entered our Winter Wonderland Challenge...you can see if you're one of the winners on the Challenge Blog. Also for all the lovely comments on our new Silly Snowmen release...there's a lot of Snowman love out there!

On to my card. I was extremely time challenged this week for all sorts of reasons but thankfully I remembered I had this card I made months ago and hadn't quite finished. All I did last night was add the button and the sentiment and voila! card done lol.

This was my first time printing and colouring Baby Billie ABC...it's such a cute image. After colouring it with my Copics I cut it out with a circular Nestie and stitched it to a scalloped mat. I ran a pink circle through my Ebosser embossing only half of it with my button embossing folder then stitched around it before sticking it to the scalloped circle card blank.

The sentiment is a Lasting Impressions Senti-metal. I added Baker's twine to the button, Glossy Accents to the ABC and glitter to Billie's heart.

Nicole's friend had a little girl the other day so will give this to her :-D

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge - Anything But Square
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Anything Goes
The Pink Elephant - Use digi image or digi paper
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Glitter n Sparkle - Add some pink

I must warn you ....the following pictures are EXTREMELY cute ... well being a biased Grandma I would say that lol!

Coen is 17 weeks tomorrow and is developing a great little personality. Nicole has started giving him baby rice which he wasn't all that about at first but he's getting used to the texture and eating from a spoon. We're getting spontaneous smiles ... I love it when he looks at me and gives me one of his gorgeous smiles. Then there's the giggles...I LOVE it when he laughs and end up laughing too :-D

That's it from me today....I hope you have a great Tuesday!

Silly Snowmen Midweek Reminder

What a week I've had!!! Not all good though...I've had serious internet issues...like I've got NONE!! I haven't quite mastered posting from my phone so have been waiting very impatiently to be up and running again. It's all over a new sports channel that is exclusive to BT...well that's not entirely true...I could have got it while with Talk Talk but hubby wanted NEEDED it in HD and that's where the trouble began...we can only get it from BT. Against my better judgement I swapped from TT to BT...they change was supposed to take effect from last Tuesday and sure enough TT cut me off, my shiny new hub arrived from BT and I tried to install in that night. In theory it should have taken 5 minutes but here I am a week later with no internet. I've talked to some lovely people in another country for what seems like hours...all very understanding and murmuring the right words to say as I rant on about how I getting behind in my work and I wanted to speak to someone higher up. By this point I'd spoken to someone at Level 1, Level 2 skipping up to Serious Customer Support but still not high enough to fix my problem. I was told an engineer could come out on WEDNESDAY and if they found a fault in my house I would have the privilege of paying £99 for them to fix it!!! I've got a friend quite high up in BT but I don't like to call on him until I'm really bitter and twisted. Well that bitter and twisted moment came yesterday lol. I made the call and fingers crossed I will be up and running tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

Enough of my whining....here's my card for the Silly Snowmen midweek reminder....

This was a super fun and quick card to make. I imported the image onto a document adjusting the size and placing it in the bottom right corner then using a text box, typed the sentiment and dragged it to where I wanted it. So easy! I ran the main card through my Ebosser with an embossing folder covering only 2/3 of the front. I coloured the image with my Copics adding glitter to the hat, scarf, skates and frozen pond then wonky stitched the edge before adhering it to the front of the card with foam pads.

I'll definitely be making some of these for my Christmas cards this year! Oh and don't forget if you leave a comment on the Challenge blog about the Silly Snowmen you could end up with the whole lot!!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers - Christmas Snow and Ice
Cutie Pie Challenge - Cute Christmas
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - Anything Goes
Parade Your Crafts - Anything Goes

Now for my weekly Coen update. He is going to be 16 weeks tomorrow...that's SIXTEEN Peeps!!!!! The time is just flying in and he's mastered his Mr Bobblehead pose (first picture), eating a few spoonfuls of baby rice seated in his new highchair and giggling! He is an absolute joy :-D

Mr Bobblehead pose

Enjoying his fancy new chair pod thingy to help him sit up (whatever happened to cushions lol???)

Having a cuddle with Grandma (that's me!)

I've a few things to do before I pack up and head home so I'll love you and leave you. Once my internet is back on I'll be back commenting :-D

Silly Snowmen New Release - Winter Wonderland!

Good morning Peeps! I hope you all had a good summer and are raring to get back into the swing of all things crafty ;-D Thanks to everyone who entered last months Colour/Photo Inspiration Challenge with their fabtastic makes...hop on over to the Challenge Blog to see if you were one of the winners. Sadly there were no entries using an LCI image :-( It's not a must but we do love seeing your creations using one of our images :-D

There's no better way to start a new month than with a new release! I have a thing for Snowmen...who doesn't lol ... they are too darn cute for their own good and brilliant for making quick Christmas cards...just a bit of colour and a LOT of glitter and the job is done! And to help you get your Christmas cards started we are giving away the whole collection of 10 Silly Snowmen to one person...woot woot!! All you have to do is leave a comment on the Challenge Blog and we will randomly pick a winner :-D

The theme is Winter Wonderland and judging by the weather over the last couple of days here in Scotland it's perfect!

Grab the badge at the top and add it to your blog to spread the word...the more the merrier!!

I had a bit of a disaster with the pictures of my card...I accidentally deleted them on my camera AND my laptop!!! Lucky for me (I didn't have time to make another) I had one (just one) on my phone and although it's not the best quality you can see the cute image ;-D

I must say looking at the photo it doesn't look all that but IRL it was much nicer...really lol!

I've used All Lit Up using my diffuser embossing thingamajig so the image and surrounding area were flat and the rest embossed with dots. I coloured the hat, scarf and lights with my copics and added glitter to the trees, trim and Glossy Accents to the lights. A bit of stitching around the edge, a MS punched snowflake and twined button for embellishment and computer generated sentiment completes the card. Quick and easy...my kind of card ;-D

Check out what the DT have come up with...you won't be disappointed!

Cute alert!!! I took this picture of Coen on Sunday...he has just found his finger and loves nothing more than giving it a good chew...that could only mean one thing...teething!!!! He's going to be 15 weeks old tomorrow...how did that happen???
