Sunshine Sunflowers

This is my third attempt at this post today! I don't know if it was my laptop that was playing up or what but if it doesn't work this time I'm giving up lol.

I made the fatal mistake of colouring my image before matching it with pp or cs and as I don't 'do' blue very much (I'm more a turquoise blue kinda girl) I didn't have a lot to choose from. This is my MIL's Mother's Day card which I am proud to say is made and winging it's way to Ireland as I type.... 1 1/2 weeks EARLY...go Kerry go Kerry lololol!!!

I'd been itching to colour up Sunflower Delight from the new Floral Delight release so got to work and this is the final result....

This was definitely a grower but by the time I got it in the mail I pretty much liked it. Remember when I was looking for burlap (hessian) not so long ago? Well I got finally got some...DLS came to the rescue and got some from Fabricland for me. I had to use Heat and Bond to keep it edges from fraying and I'm really pleased with the way that part turned out.

I'm way behind...story of my life these days so I'll just say...

Thanks for stopping by :-D

Catch ya later x

Hi Kerry

Well done on being so organised and getting this card made and posted off in plenty of time!!

Your MIL will be thrilled to receive this gorgeous card. The blue and yellow combo is just fabulous. The burlap adds great texture too.

Michelle :o)

This has turned out really lovely Kerry, the colours match up perfectly and I love the hessian flower. I bought some Aida after seeing your flowers, I've just coloured up a couple of floral delights images all I need now is time to make them into cards!
Love the wedding invite, really elegant and gorgeous

Wow, 1 1/2 weeks early, well done girl! I have never managed to create a card early, and I don't think I ever will. The blue makes a striking background and the buttons are a perfect match, too.
FairD's comment reminds me that I bought a tiny fake Christmas tree for my office space last year, which had its bottom covered in burlap. I covered it with a piece of red fabric. Maybe I should uncover it and use the burlap on a card instead, LOL.

Way to go girl!! It's really weird that even though I follow your blog it intermittently disappears off my blog list and off my reader list...I can never understand blogger? It happens with a couple of other blogs I follow and it is always the same ones??!. Anyway I know you usually blog on a Tuesday so I stopped by to say Hi. I love the blue you used on the card and the new stamp looks fab. As always your stitching is just sooooo neat! Happy Tuesday Kerry,
Jane x

Really lovely card Kerry. Love the blue and yellow combo and the burlap is a great contrast. When my son was doing art at Uni I had tons of burlap, why didn't I think to use it on cards. Debs xx
