Starbucks to the rescue!

My internet in the house has gone on strike! Not good when you need it for your business. It's been acting up for a while and finally packed in the other day (hence no posts). The engineer came out yesterday for what he thought would be a routine installation of a new router but oh no...not in our house! We have the worst luck for things going wrong. If we bought say a new tv and there were 1,000,000 in the warehouse and there was only 1 faulty one I can guarantee we would get that one!! The luck of the Irish seems to have deserted us lol. So the problem seems to be something to do with numbers not matching up and it will take a couple to a lot more than a couple of days to fix! It's a pain but the consolation is I am now firmly planted in a booth in Starbucks with coffee and yummy muffins on tap to keep my energy levels up lolololol. Hmmm..maybe this hasn't been a bad thing after all....except my waistline will not be happy if I come here too often!
So what I'm going to do is pre-post a few cards to keep you interested (I hope!) until my internet is fixed.
Here's the first of 4 Christmas designs outwith any of the characters you've seen so far. I love these new images...from Ruby and Magnum's stable...and I had such fun colouring this one.
This is Tracey (yes, named after my big Sis!) decorating her tree....I mean reindeer with a little help from her friends. What do you think? Do you like/love her?

Mr Reindeer is being very tolerant! I suppose the card is quite dark but I love these papers from Basic Grey...I used my little 6 x 6 pad...and I like how there's only a few parts coloured red to make it 'pop'. I swithered whether to use red crystals for the baubles or these khaki green ones and I'm glad I went for the latter.

IRL the crystals are gorgeous :-D And look....Tracey's blonde!! Once upon a time my sister was blonde but favours a more reddish tinge these days. I thunk I did quite well lol.

The pup and mouse are ready with their baubles

I love this little tag. The stamp is from a SU! set as is the punch. You'll be seeing a lot more of these little tags.
That's it for today...I hope you have a great weekend. The weather is horrible and I think it's going to stay like this...at least until the golf is over!

Nikki & Magnum

I received another package from Gaynor and Ann with beautiful 3/4/5'D cards using Nikki & Friends and this is one of my favourites...Slobbing Nikki at her finest :-D I love colours Gaynor used and the two colours of flowers. I will...one day...put a flower on one of my cards!

Look at all the layers!!

I know I said I was going to alternate Christmas and everyday images but this one was begging to be posted so here it is...
Tiptoeing Lily

Did Lily really think she'd get away with pinching the cheese??
This is short and sweet as I have to get to the post office with a VERY special parcel for a VERY special person. This might just have something to do with the exciting news I received at the weekend which I might just tell you about at the end of the week!!!! Boy oh boy....I'm just bursting to tell but my lips are sealed....uh huh :-8

T In The Park

Steven was working at T In The Park this past weekend...he was modelling UGG boots... he worked for 45 minutes in total each day then got to enjoy the festival with an access all area pass. The weather wasn't too kind unfortunately and I think the grounds turned into one huge mud puddle. He left the house at 9am and came home at...well let's just say he came home lol! On Saturday morning before he left he asked if there were any spare wellies kicking about. I had bought each of the kids a pair when we first got the dogs so there was no excuse about walking them in all weather conditions...didn't make any difference...so he grabbed a pair and walked into where I was wearing a pair of Calvin Klein boxers and the wellies...I wish I had a picture for you to see lol!!! Apparently...so he said...people were walking around the festival wearing just that...boxers and wellies and nought else!! I really didn't want to hear any more :-8
These were the hightops he wore Saturday night....
They're actually black and can I tell you after a round in the washing machine they're like brand new!
I'm not sure about this card. I LOVE the image...I love the pp...so I'm wondering if it's the shape of the card? I love my 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 cards but I was trying to change things up a bit. I did manage it with Cheeky Jack so maybe I'll just have to keep trying with this one :-D

Buttercup doesn't look very happy to have a ladybug land on her nose!!

Nope...definitely not happy lol.
I've got some mega mega MEGA exciting news to tell you but I'm going to have to wait just a bit longer to tell you....I might let the cat out of the bag by the end of the week. It's sooooo exciting and I'm sooooo excited about it and I'm thinking you might just be too!!

Happy Sunday...

Judging by your comments Tree Trimming Ruby was a success :-D Thank you for letting me know what you thought of her...she really is the prettiest little thing. Thought I would alternate the Christmas designs with the normal ones and that is why I went from Christmas to summer yesterday with Magnum & Lily deserving a well earned holiday! I haven't heard if my BIL received the card today but I hope he likes it :-D
Today's card is another Christmas Ruby...I'm going to call her Graceful Skating Ruby and I just love her!
I coloured her up with my Pro Markers and Prisma pencils on the trees...I really like the smudgy look the pencils give. I'm sure I can smudge with my Pro Markers given time lol. The paper is last years MME Be Merry range.... I must have really like it cuz I found loads! The sentiment is from Amuse which I bought last year but never used :-O

She does look really graceful doesn't she...unlike myself when I'm on the ice. The only ice I like these days is in my drinks!

She is just the purdiest fairy {sigh} I dug out my Fluffy Stuff for her hat and jacket trim, Swarovski crystals for buttons and of course....Glamour dust for all the sparkle :-D

Still lots of samples to make so I'll get cracking...loads of more fab images to share with you :-D

Magnum & Lily on holiday

My BIL is starting an new job in Dubai on Monday...how cool is that? Or should I say hot lol. I don't envy him at this time of year where the temperatures can get as high as 50 degrees but I think all the rest of it more than compensates for a little heat. How wonderful to go to work in shorts, t's and flip flops :-D
Anywho, I had the purr-fect (get it?!) image for a good luck card...Magnum and Lily on the beach!!! Coincidence? Absolutely lol.
I know he's not going to be sitting back and relaxing but I couldn't resist putting this sentiment on the card. I will put some more cheek on the inside heehee.

I thought this image would be perfect to colour in with my water colours. Are you shocked?? Water colours were my first love and I would NEVER part with them. It's almost a must to go outside the lines lol (take note Pro Markers!)I have an amazing set...Caran D'Ache Neoclour II...84!!! Forgive me if I sound smug...but I am lol. Although I don't use them very often I do get a tingle when I bring them out. They are still in the same order as when I received them...I am very anal about that and if one is in it's wrong space I get in a little flap!!! Bet you didn't know that about me huh lolololol!

Ahhhhh...this is the life! Both Magnum and Lily look so chill-axed...I do hope those drinks are of the non-alcohol variety!
When I was thinking up how I wanted the card to look I immediately thought of my EK border punch. I think it goes perfectly with the paper. Speaking of which...isn't it gorgeous! I ordered this from Hayley with this image in mind. She kept teasing me with all the new papers she was getting so I had to investigate. This Bo Bunny (what else?!) Sun Kissed Chillin' (perfect name {sigh}) paper is so yummy. See the button? It's another clear one but I punched a 3/4" circle of the other side of SKC pp and glued it to the button with GA. Once it was dry I poke the holes through and threaded SU! twine through the button and around the card tying it in a bow. Kinda nautical...I thought :-D
I also got some pp from the Bo Bunny Petal Pushers range. OMGoodness!!!! Love it...especially Bloomers...you HAVE to check it out {sigh} All that talk has made me want to make a card with it so I'm off.
Have a great Saturday :-D

Christmas in July

It feels a bit weird posting this card as we've just over 6 months before 'it's' here. But we all know 6 months can go in a flash and before you know it we're panicking because we've not done this and forgotten that. I don't want to add to those stresses but believe it or not I've been asked for Christmas stamps since the end of May!!!
I did hint yesterday I might have a Christmas Ruby Fairy to share with you so I set to work and this is what I came up with. I feel I must warn you though....she's gorgeous!
So with great excitement this is Tree Trimming Ruby
I've had this paper from Craftwork Cards for yeeeeers and when I opened the drawer it all but shouted at me to be used!

Moira has excelled herself with these Christmas images. I love the little birds helping Ruby with the baubles.

I used my Pro Markers, new and old, on Ruby and apart from the bit of brown on her forehead I'm pleased with it. She is just so pretty it doesn't really matter if the colour strays ;-D

I coloured the tree with my Prisma pencils and used some gorgeous light amethyst and blue zircon Swarovski crystals for the baubles (2 & 3mm). They twinkle so prettily in the light IRL

This is the card open....similar to the Wellies Robyn card I made in an earlier post but the sides are the same shape

Another look at the inside. I was tempted to add ribbon as a closure but I think if the pp wasn't as busy I would have.
Well????? What do you think? Did Moira do good? I think she's stunning and can't wait to show you the other....5!!!!!!!!!
Hope you have a great weekend. I'll be posting some new images so make sure you stop by.

Cheeky Chappie

As promised here's another Jack...think I'll have to call him Cheeky Jack! How many times have you seen a little kid pull this face?! I'm sure I've done it and I wasn't all that little at the time lol.

Notice anything different about this card? It's not square! I was it a bit of a square rut...I do love my square cards...so opted for this tri-fold card for a change. As you can imagine I don't have a lot of masculine paper but I bought this SU! pad a couple of months ago which hasn't seen the light of day and thought it would be perfect for a little boy card.

Instead of a greeting to hold the card closed I got out my i-top and made a brad to match :-D

This is the front un-tucked

From a different angle

and finally the inside. I really like this style of card and me thinks will be making more :-D

I used a combination of Prisma pencils and Pro Markers. I'm determined I'm going to get the hang of them yet!

I don't know if you can tell but I put Glossy Accents on his tongue.

That's the two images I have of Jack so far and I'm hoping it won't be too long before I can show you more :-D

Right...I'm off to start on another new image. Hmmm...I wonder what it will be? A Christmas Ruby perhaps?? You'll just have to check in tomorrow to find out!
