I received some fabulous 3D cards in the mail yesterday from Gaynor and Ann...this time they were Nikki's. I love them all and thought I'd show you this one first. This one is made by Ann...the colours are gorgeous and I wish you could see it IRL because my photography skills aren't doing it justice.
Gaynor said Ann uses either Copics or Promarkers and stamps the image on pearlescent paper and that's what gives the image the shimmer.

Look at all those layers!!! Thank you Ann...your cards are beautiful.
I hope the weather stays dry this weekend. I'm taking Rocky and Ruby to visit Rocky's breeder...I always hold my breath until she says he's looking great! No doubt I'll be up at CB too catching up with the girls.

Hello everyone! Another day closer to the weekend...Is it just me or does anyone else think this year is going awfully fast?
I'm ashamed to say this Penny Black has been in my workroom uninked for a good couple of years. I was having a bit of a rummage the other day and there it was begging for a bit of love so this is what I came up with...
I have a bad habit of buying lots of things and not using them straight away. I can't believe I neglected Pink Toes (with a name like that how can you use another colour???) for so long. I used more of my MME Quite Contrary paper...Don't think I'll get tired of this range any time soon.

I used the glitter sparingly...yup I did...for just a bit of sparkle.

Here's a closeup of my 2nd lace flower....love it!!!

I didn't venture out of the house today until after dinner. I had to wait in for some deliveries and a friend popped in for a chat. It turned out to be a be a beautiful day and night so after dinner I took the dogs to CB and they had a great time. I got there just about 7pm and it was still so light out...I love the longer evenings and weather permitting I'll be doing the night run more often.
My niece moved into her own apartment at the weekend so I made her a card today. It might look a bit familiar ... it was one of the projects Annette and I made at the SU! night last month. It was originally a 6 x 6 scrapbook page but I made it into a 5.5 x 5.5 card, stitched around the edges, glittered it up and added the sentiment. Again it looks a lot nicer IRL.

I love the simplicity of it....I hope she likes it.

This is the bird from the My Sweet Pea stamp set...you gotta love him!
I'm going to get my eyes tested tomorrow then quickly go into town and pick my new glasses from Oscar & Fitch. I hope they're as nice as I remember.
Thanks for stopping by

Bad dentist!!

I had a dentist appointment this morning. I go every three months alternating the dentist with the hygienist and today was a check up with the dentist. My dentist is lovely but she's on maternity leave so I had the stand in. I couldn't tell you his name because he didn't introduce himself...one black mark. Not a lot of chat was happening...bit hard I suppose when you're lying there with your mouth wide open but I usually get a bit of 'at' going on with Nicola. Anywho, the stand in dentist starts to examine my teeth and gets the scraping tool out...just to let you know I'm ok with the dentist...not scared, quite happy to go...but one thing I DO NOT like is the power tool that chips the plaque off your teeth and that is noted on my card so full marks to SID for at least reading it! I don't know if he'd had a bad morning or a fight with the wife but all I can say is he attacked my teeth with gusto! If the hook dug into my gums once it dug in a hundred times. When he finally finished with the bottom teeth he told me to rinse....don't know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't all the blood floating around in the spit bowl! Back I went for round 2 and he started off quite gently so I thought there obviously wasn't as much scraping needed as the bottom...WRONG!!! I started thinking that maybe Nicola and Debbie the Hygenist weren't doing their jobs right because it certainly didn't hurt like this when they did my teeth. My hands were starting to hurt from clenching them so hard but finally I was allowed to rinse again....more blood. By this point I was wondering if I'd need a blood transfusion when he was finished!!! When I heard him say 'just lay back now and I'll polish your teeth and scrape anything I've missed' I seriously wanted to jump out of the chair and run out! Surely there wasn't anything left to scrape....not even enamel lol. My mouth was really sore by the time SID finished...I asked him when Nicola was back and he replied with July...bit soon after having a baby isn't it? Cheeky sod...at least I won't have him digging in my mouth when I'm due my next appointment.
So after all that rambling here's my card. I've had this stamp for about 7 years and it hasn't seen daylight in about 6 1/2!!! It's by Me & My Big Ideas and I love it!

This flower is made from a piece of lace I bought from Hayley. She was asked to do a layout for a magazine (my mind has gone blank for the name but I'll get back to you on that) and she emailed me a picture of it when she was finished. She'd used a picture of her gorgeous daughter Grace and the new Bo Bunny Jazmyne papers. She'd also made a few of these lace flowers and I begged her to tell me how to make them. She said she's going to post a tutorial on them but they're easy peasy! I'm really pleased with the way it turned out so don't be surprised if you see them on all the cards I make now lol.
I've gone on enough and it's time to think about dinner. Speaking of time did you notice the new addition to my blog? Mr Clock...think he blends in quite nicely :-)
Have a good night.

Mary Mary Quite Contrary how does your garden grow???

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a lovely Easter yesterday and didn't over induldge in chocolate. We had really nice day...I took the dogs to CB then home a pottered. Made the most delicious roast beef dinner...oh my word! I found the recipe on the internet which I'll post another time. It's so tender and tasty...my mouth is watering as I type this lol! Nicole and Ben came for dinner so it was the 6 of us. After dinner Nic and I shared the chocolate bunny she gave me and then we all sat down and watched Australia with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. I'd heard mixed reviews about it so wasn't expecting much but I loved it. It was 2 1/2 hours long but well worth watching. Especially with the gorgeous Mr Jackman...Phoar!!!!
Today was a miserable day but in between the showers managed to get to CB and meet up with the rest of Noah's Ark girls. It makes all the difference when there are other dogs for Rocky and Ruby to chase. They slept most of the day since we got back.
I was quite productive on the card front today. I realised it's 3 weeks today that I go away on my holidays for 2 weeks and I don't want not to post (is that good english??? probably not!) so I'm going to try and make enough cards to pre-post at least every other day while I'm away.
Slobbing Nikki is one of 5 cards I made today...and they're all different :-)
I wanted to use my MME Mary Mary Quite Contrary paper...I love the vibrant colours. Don't look to close at my stitched corners...I'm not sure why they went like that...I told you not to look!!!

I thought she'd like change in the colour of her sofa so went for green over the usual brown. I got a bit carried away with the glitter...it's a shame the pictures don't pick up the sparkle.
That's my share for today. Hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Retail Therapy

Nicole had a day off yesterday so I took one too! She was getting her hair done so I got the train into town and met up with her afterwards. I'm going on holiday soon and I need a few new summer clothes. I've worn the same things for years ...it's not like I wear out my summer clothes out in this country since we don't get much of a summer but I decided it was time to treat myself.
We started in Marks and I got a few bikinis, cover ups and tops. Then we hit River Island and I picked up a couple of tops there and finally to French Connection where I'd gone with Jean on Monday and bought pair of jeans and a top I'd seen. I'll take some of my old things but at least this will freshen my wardrobe up a bit.
Last night I met up with Tracy and Susan, two girls I see at Cathkin Braes. Tracy has 2 Dalmatians and Susan had 2 Poodles until recently but now has 3!! And of course I'm there with my 2 Boxers. It was the first time we've met up away from CB and boy we scrub up well lol. I almost didn't recognize them without their wellies, hats, scarves etc. Four hours later we headed home with severe face ache from laughing so much. Hopefully we can do it again soon.
I managed to make a card today...I thought Bathtub Nikki needed to see some ink.
The paper is October Afternoon with one of my favourite colour combos...pink and brown. The bubbles look grey but they're white...I think the Glossy Accents makes them look grey.

Here's another one of my felt flowers.

I've got some exciting news...I've had some preliminary drawings from Allan and Moira and they're gorgeous! There will be some surprises from both. I got Allan's images of Nikki yesterday and managed to tweak them today so hopefully I'll be able to give you some sneak peaks in a week or so.

Hayley has added all the gorgeous new Bo Bunny Jazmyne and Sophie papers AND the new My Mind's Eye Little Boy Blue and Mary Mary papers....I think she has one more MME collection to upload. She also has new Prima flowers, ribbons and lace. Make sure you check them out...I'm off to have a shop!
Hope you have a lovely Easter tomorrow.

Who's a fool?

Another week is almost at an end and it's April 1 (thankfully nobody played any pranks on me!)...a quarter of this year is over already...what happened???!!! It feels like it's still winter. Woke up to a beautiful day but it started snowing about 30 minutes ago though it's stopped now. I just want to feel warm again :-D
I got Swing Ruby out last night and gave her an inking and coloured her up. She looks like she's warm!!!

I used another sentiment from the Fairy Sentiment set.

She's just so fabulously pretty...do I sound like a proud mom lol?
I'm out with Sadie tonight. She wants to go to Ikea (groan) to look for a chair she sat in in her Optometrist the other day. She's blind in one eye and has little sight in the other so she likes to sit right up close to the television. At the moment she's using a beach chair which isn't the most comfortable thing and so we're on a mission to find THE chair! I just hope I don't find any more storage items because although I could do with them my workroom is closing in on me. Wish me luck!
