I just can't watch..

Are any of you watching the hockey?? Canada vs USA for the gold and silver medals?? OMG...I've been watching it through my fingers! Couldn't believe the US scored with only seconds to go :-(
Gold or silver, Canada have been smokin' in these Games. At the moment we have the most gold medals (13) and I think are tied with another country (can't remember which one) for the most gold medals in a Winter Olympics so if we win the game that takes us to 14 and have the best gold medal record!!!
I can't take any more...my heart is pounding...everyone else has gone to bed...I think I'll take the dogs out!!!
Before I do here's a sample card Karen made for me for Stitches.....
WE JUST SCORED!!!!!!!! Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3-2!!!!
Think I just woke up the whole house...who cares....I'm so happy :-)
WE JUST GOT GOLD!!!! YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
Sorry about that lol...We are the Champions my friend.....
Ok, back to the card....as I was saying Karen made me this sample card for Stitches. I don't think Original Nikki has looked better :-)

This was the very first Nikki...I just love her!

Sorry...I'm going to have to go...I can't concentrate now after that game lol. My sister Shelly is at the closing ceremonies. She got 2 tickets in exchange for haircuts for a year so that tell's you how expensive they were!

Thanks for stopping by. Fingers crossed orders will start going out Tuesday or Wednesday.

ps Just heard that 14 gold medals IS a record!!! No nation has never won 14 gold medals in an Olympics :-)

3D'd to the max

Happy Saturday! I think this is the first day I've felt relatively normal (whatever that may be)since getting back on Wednesday night. Last night I started making the coded labels for the stamps coming in. I hadn't coded the stamps until the show and I think it will be easier for the shop owners rather than going by the names of the Nikki's and Ruby's. I finished them off this morning along with some address labels (don't I lead an exciting life lol) for shipping out the orders this coming week.

I promised you pictures of the 3D'd cards that Gaynor made and here they are. Unfortunately these pictures DO NOT do them justice at all. I probably should have taken pictures from a slight side angle so you can see them better. 3D'd are nothing like decoupage...they are a lot more subtle. These are gorgeous and I can't wait for mine :D

There's glossy accents on the flowers

I think Gaynor said these are Hero Arts stamps

This guy is too cute! She said it takes well over an hour to make her cards and I can believe it. When I get mine I'll take pictures from all angles so you can see it properly.
I don't think I'll see my workroom until tomorrow. I'm going to catch up on my ironing and watch the new Ant & Dec show. I have a couple of orders to do for this week so I'll get them done tomorrow and post them here for you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Set up day

Hello everyone...did you think I got lost on my way home LOL??? It's been pretty manic since I got home Wednesday night. I got the train home instead of flying because I had a bit of a weight issue...not my own though looking at some of the pictures I'm beginning to wonder! I got loads of magazines so I figured I'd take the leisurely route home and get a bit of paperwork done.
I bought a new card reader today and I've managed to upload the pictures from setup day and one of the other days.
This is what Karen and I arrived to... a blank canvas

I wanted to bring the sign home but it was longer than my case and I had enough to carry without it as well.

Karen putting velcro dots on the letters

Sign is up

Here I am sucking my tummy in lol!

Looking good

I wouldn't have done this without Karen...coming to Stitches was her idea!

Annette's basket of candy...made it there and back in one piece :D

I think the stand looks great...note the scarf...my mom sent it to me just before I left...it goes with my Olympic mittens!

I 'borrowed' an idea from Steve in the stand next to me and Jessica (loved her! She's from Florida and was just so lovely)...Karen lent me the black box bottom and I made the ladybug top and put a slot in the top for people to put their business cards in. The idea was whoever's card I pulled out after the show won a set of 8 Ruby Fairies stamps. And inn case you're reading the Gaynor from ESK Warehouse...you won!!! I'll mail them to you when they arrive next week.

Karen's article in the February issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft. The magazine lent me the cards for my stand. (which I just realised I've brought home...sorry!)

All the Ruby Fairy cards

I don't like this picture of me (didn't realise how bad my posture was...Gaynor took this picture and it definitely wasn't my good side!) but I wanted you to see that people did come to my stand :D
So that was set up day...I loved how the stand looked and it got quite a few compliments.
The stamps were supposed to arrive yesterday but didn't. Then they were supposed to ship today but City Link didn't show up to pick up the packages and now I'm told the won't ship until Monday. I'm really disappointed but there's not a lot I can do save driving down south myself to pick them up!
That's it for tonight. I'll be back tomorrow to show you the 3D cards that one of my customers (heehee..I like the sound of that) showed me and promised she'd make me a couple using the Nikki stamps :D
Thanks for stopping by.

I'm coming home...

Morning! Just about to get my stuff in Karen's car then we're heading to the train station in Rugby. I won't get into Glasgow until after 5pm so I probably won't post again until tomorrow. I'll fill you in on everything then.
Today was going to be the last day to pre-order the new Nikki's and Ruby Fairies but I'm gonna extend that to Friday so if you want them at the great price of £5.50 send me an email.
Have a great day!

Best day evah...

...except for my wedding day and having my 3 kids that is lol.
I've had a permanent smile on my face for the last few days. This has been such a great experience for me...orders aside I have loved meeting all the people that have stopped by my stand whether they have placed an order or not. This show has really boosted my confidence and I'm starting to believe in myself and my stamps. I know it's not always going to be like this (although I hope it is!)...I am realistic...but the hard work I have put in over the last few months has been worth it.
It's the last day tomorrow and it's supposed to be the quietist (is this a word?? if not it should be !) day so maybe I'll get a chance to have a wander myself to see what everyone else is offering.
Pierce and the kids have been phoning me at least twice a day to make sure I'm ok! I think Pierce is hoping he'll be able to retire after this show but I've told him he'll have to hang on to that thought for a little bit longer lol.
I'm going to get into my pj's now and chill for a bit before going to bed. I am absolutely knackered!
Thanks again for those of you who have come to see me at my stand, placed orders or not and for the lovely comments you've made about Nikki & Ruby.

I survived :D

Still can't upload pictures for you but thought I'd let you know I've survived the first day and let me tell you it was an interesting one!
I was quite nervous in the car on the way in with Karen and her hubby who was dropping us off but by the time we arrived and I got my badge the nerves disappeared. Show opened at 9 and by 10:10 not one person had stopped! I was beginning to feel a failure (I give up easily huh lol) when finally someone ventured into my little stand and that was that :D I decided early on that I was just going to be myself and not try and act like a business person...think I'd get sussed pretty quick...and I think it worked. I met lots of really nice people...some placed orders, others didn't but seemed to like Nikki and Ruby and others said they'd be back today to place orders. Hopefully they will and it wasn't an excuse to get away!
Gaynor and Donald arrived with a smile, hug and a coffee...it was great to see familiar faces.
Three lovely ladies came onto the stand and placed an order. They 3D their cards and said once they received their order they would make a card for me using Nikki or Ruby. They left but 1/2 an hour or so later appeared back...I thought they had changed their minds about their order (positive thinking Kerry!!!) but they had remembered they'd some samples they were dropping off to another exhibitor and wanted to show them to me. OMG...they were gorgeous (They did let me take pictures which I'll post when I get home) and I can't wait to see what they do with my images...I think there was a promise of one if not two samples!
I met a lot of really nice people...retailer's as well as exhibitors...and I hope today will be as good as yesterday.
Shower time, then show time. Sorry nothing to see but thanks for stopping by.

Snow!!!!

Woke up to snow...can't believe it!!! Hope that doesn't keep people away today.
I remembered this morning that I'd taken one picture with my phone and here it is. I'll still post the ones from my camera when I get that thingy sorted!
Believe it or not there's over 100 cards on the stand...there's some to the right you can't see plus the cards from the Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine are on the end wall as a feature.
Gotta go!

You woudn't believe what happened to me...

You know how I said in a previous post that there's always a story to everything I do? Well, I've got another one for you!
Ryan took me to the airport on Thursday for my 6:45pm flight. Got there in plenty of time to check in...got through the scanners without setting them off and even had time to get a quick bite to eat before I went to my gate. Got to the gate and waited....and waited....and waited. Every once in a while someone would go up to the desk to ask what was going on as none of the staff of Flybe felt it necessary to tell us anything. Through snippets we discovered that it was snowing heavily in Birmingham and the airport was closed until midnight!! We could either wait for 5 hours for them to declare our flight was cancelled and get a refund or go and re-book our flight for the next day at no extra charge. Since there were quite a few flights cancelled I decided I would re-book so make sure I got a seat on the Friday. Managed to get a seat on the 10:35am flight...called home and Ryan picked me up. I felt a bit deflated after all the build up of going on Thursday but there wasn't any point in getting stressed about it. As long as I was there for setup day today (Saturday) I was fine.
I was watching the news Friday morning and although the airport had re-opened there were going to be quite a lot of delays. Also more snow was delayed so I made the decision I would get the train instead! At least I'd get as close as I could to Birmingham one way or the other. Pierce dropped me off at Central Station at 9:30 and the train set off at 10. Although it takes a bit longer to get to your destination, taking the train is certainly stressfree!! I had bought some magazines at the airport the night before so I had plenty to read on the train, packed my lunch and had a great time to myself :D
Karen picked me up in Rugby...couldn't believe I'd actually made it lol. We went to Tesco to get our food supplies for the show and went back to her place. We didn't have much to do but still managed to get to bed after midnight! We didn't have to be at the NEC too early so we took our time this morning and headed off about 12. Between the 2 of us we managed to carry in my stuff in one trip. We walked around a bit until we found my stand BS05!! I was told when I booked the stand I was going to be BS15 but I'm happy with 05 since 5 is my lucky number...maybe it's a sign.
I've taken pictures from start to finish but for some reason my card reader is acting up and won't read my card. Hopefully over the next couple of days I'll get it working otherwise you'll have to wait until I get home next week to see it all. I'm annoyed because it looks great...better than I thought it would :D
We have an early start tomorrow...have to leave at 7:30...show starts at 9 until 6pm!!! OMG...I'm going to be sooooo tired come Tuesday night!! Hopefully it will be worth it. Right...I've got to get my bags all sorted so I'll say goodnight.

Wish me luck!

The day has finally arrived! It seemed so far off when I started thinking about going to the trade show in Birmingham and now it's here...this weekend...OH MY! You'll all be glad it's almost over and normal blogging will resume lol!
I did a lot of running around yesterday and today will be no different. Finally got the order forms sorted...whoever invented Excell is both brilliant and sick lol! Or maybe I'm just thick heehee. I got there in the end thanks to my right hand woman Karen :D
I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to this day either through lovely comments on my blog, emails, texts, cards and of course Elaine, Annette and their Cricut machines! I definitely owe them some blades and cutting matts. I don't know how Annette did it but on top of the other samples she made me I arrived home to find she'd delivered another 10 samples each one as gorgeous as the next. She also sent her son Adam over on Tuesday to deliver the basket below...

Karen already had said I should get a bowl of sweets for my stand...get enough sugar in them and they'll buy the lot!!! Obviously Annette had the same idea and bought and made up this cute basket and filled it with sweets from St Andrews.

She added to the ladybug theme with these too cute ladybug mini clothes pegs. Thank you so much Annette.
That's all I've got time for today. I'll be taking my laptop with me and will try and blog while I'm away and let you know how I'm getting on. There will be some friendly faces coming to see me on Sunday...Gaynor and Donald from Craft World and I'm really looking forward to meeting Hayley from Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn. We've talked on the phone and emailed so it will be nice to finally meet her.
Take care everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Altered state take 2

I decided I was even less happy with my clipboards than I thought. The one I didn't modge podge was ok...nothing brilliant but the one I modge podged was full of bubbles that even the heat in my hot water tank cupboard wouldn't take out. Every time I looked at them I wanted to tear them up so that's what I did! I grabbed the bubbled one and tore off all the paper replaced the paper with the one of the right. This was going to be my original choice but when I saw the pink paper with the hearts and the ladybugs went for that one instead. I like the new paper because it's so bright and I went with the old adage 'less is more' and only put a strip of black cs at the very top under the clip and ribbon in the hole on the clip. Much happier :D
Then with the pink paper I took off the ribbon at the top and replaced it with the punched cs and changed the ribbon on the clip which is a better colour match with the paper. Much happier:D

I started about 10 things yesterday and finished 1! Tracey's samples arrived and they were gorgeous. I got them all packed up with mine and Annette's samples and shipped them off to Karen before I realised I forgot to take pictures! That was the only job I started and finished. I've got piles of papers, suitcases, boxes, stamps lying all over my tv room. I just hope I don't forget anything.
I'm off to the hairdresser's and to get some last minute bits and pieces to take with me so I'd better get going. I got a surprise while I was cooking dinner last night...I'll take a picture of it when I get back and show you....love it!!
Have a great day.

Goundhog Day

I woke up to a frosty morning...I somehow thought that weather was behind us but it looks like it could be with us up till the weekend with maybe a little snow thrown in. I think I've had enough snow for a while and long for spring and the warmer weather. I've noticed the nights are getting slightly longer with it still being light at almost 5pm! February 2nd is Groundhog Day in Canada and the States. The saying goes if it's cloudy and the groundhog emerges from it's burrow, it will leave it's burrow signifying winter is almost over. On the other hand if it's sunny, the groundhog will supposedly retreat back into it's burrow and there will be another 6 weeks of winter! I'm not sure which was the case this year...I must ask my mom next time I talk to her.
I made this card last night for Moira to thank her for the latest Ruby Fairies. I hope she doesn't look at my blog before she gets it tomorrow!

I'm not a big fan of blue except for my denim jeans but I wanted to bring out the blue in the pp. I love this image of Ruby...it can represent so many occassions...birthday, Mother's Day, thank you, sorry, just because and loads more.

I wanted to show you that although I'm not watching much of the Olympics I do have a souvenier to support them! My mom bought me a pair these mittens for my birthday back in December and I used them all the time because they were so warm but they got a bit tatty from making and throwing snowballs at the dogs! At the time she said you couldn't get a pair for love nor money and she was lucky to get mine. When I told her about mine looking a bit worse for wear she managed to track down another pair...I'm sure she was camping out waiting for the shipment to come in.

They've got a lovely fleece lining and kept my hands toasty during that really cold weather. Rocky and Ruby love my mittens and another red pair of fleece gloves (courtesy of Judy!) and when we're walking, they try and take them off my hands! Ruby is the worst culprit and once she's managed to pinch one she runs as fast as her three legs will carry her!!
Right...breakfast time then shower then work! Have a great day.

Monday 15 February 2010

Happy Monday everyone! The start of another week and we're heading fast to the end of another month. Time is just zipping by with no sign of slowing down.

I managed to see some of the Olympics while I was making dinner tonight...the men's downhill skiing. It's amazing how fast these skiers can go and even more amazing how they manage to stay upright (or crouched!) on their 2 skies. It was a beautiful day there today...the sun was shining and Whistler looked beautiful. Just seeing it all makes me proud to be a Canadian :D

Roadster Nikki is tearing up the road again. She looks like she's in a hurry and I wonder if she's off to meet anyone special...hmmm, now there's a thought!

I challenged myself NOT to use any ribbon or buttons and can I tell ya...it was hard!! My eyes kept glancing over at my jars of ribbon but I managed to avoid the temptation. I did however use these black nallheads which have been gathering dust for a long loooooong time.

Hope you like this card. I think I have one more in me before I start packing everything up for my flight on Thursday. My sister Tracey mailed her samples last week and I'm hoping they'll arrive either tomorrow or Wednesday. Our styles are quite different so I'm excited to see what she and her friend Laura have come up with. If they come in time I'll post them for you to see. Annette told me today she was going to make another couple and deliver them on Wednesday and when I was talking to Karen she said she'd done another few. I think I'll have more than enough for the retailers to see.

I was sent the floor plan of the hall Stitches is being held in...there are roughly 238 exhibitor's so you can imagine how big it is. Karen is working on the Hunky Dory stand and luckily it's really close to mine. It also looks like I'm really close to the coffee area which is great though I don't see any loo's!!
I think that's me for tonight. I've had far too many late nights lately and Ryan's taking the dogs out for their last walk so I'm going to sneak up to my bed.
Thanks for stopping by. I've a Ruby card to share with you tomorrow so make sure you check in.

Go Canada Go!!

Did any of you see the opening of the Olympics in Vancouver? I only saw bits of it but it was spectacular. The photo below is of BC Place which is where Pierce played football/soccer when he played for our home team The Vancouver Whitecaps. See the stadium brought back so many memories. I was watching the women's mogul's freestyle this morning and Canada's Jennifer Heil was pipped the gold medal by Hannah Kearney from the USA. It was so exciting and I wished I was home in Vancouver watching it (sniff). At least that's one silver medal we've got so well done Jennifer!!

This was the second card I made last night...Bathtub Nikki and Buttercup!! I think those names go really well together...thanks Alison :D

I decided to go for a coloured bath...reminiscent of years ago when tubs, sinks and toilets were anything but white. Our first house in Scotland was the showhome and it had burgundy bathroom suites!!! As soon as we could afford it I changed them to white...so much easier to accessorize.

The countdown is on...Thursday is D day. Pierce's mom and dad arrive in the afternoon to make sure everyone gets fed while I'm away and I'm getting the last flight to East Midlands to Karen's. I'm excited and bricking it at the same time. I somehow feel there's still so much to do but not sure what...does that sound Irish to you??? Anyway, it will be an experience and I'm sure I will learn a lot. Hopefully not too many mistakes will be made and that everyone that hasn't met Nikki and Ruby will love them.

If I can manage, I'll make a few more samples this week...I think I have almost 100 so there will be plenty for the retailers to see.

Hope you've all had a good weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Love is in the air...

Well, it is for me anyway :D Ryan asked me to make his girlfriend Rebecca a Valentine's card which I'm not sure is a good thing for him or not. I hope she doesn't mind. I know he's not a mushy person and is totally allergic to the 'L' word. God help any girl that tells him she loves him...it really is the beginning of the end of the relationship if she uses the 'L'word. Pierce and I were on holiday in Dubai a few years ago. Ryan phoned us one night and he told Pierce that his girlfriend at the time had just told him she loved him....he broke up with her not long after! So when making his card I knew it had to be as unloving and romantic for him but have a hint of romance for her. I saw this card here and thought it would keep both of them happy!
I kept it pretty close though added another row of hearts and wanted to have a single row of hearts all the same colour. And of course I can't make a card these days without a bit of stitching!

I also glittered up the middle heart :D The heart is from a set from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is one of Elzybell's new releases.

I also managed to make another Nikki sample card.

I wish I had a coat like that when I was expecting!
I think I'll manage another sample tonight then I've got to hit the ironing...the clothes are starting to spill into the kitchen from the utility room and Pierce hinted this morning that he had no t-shirts! I usually do the ironing on a Sunday while watching Dancing on Ice but since it's Valentine's Day I might just curl up on the couch and watch it with Pierce instead :D
Hope you're having a good weekend.

Altered state

I thought I'd start with Steven's birthday card and before you say anything...no I wasn't sniffing my Stazon ink pad when I was making it!!! I know it's got a shoe on it with a crystal on the flower and I know you're thinking this is more like a girls card but let me explain :D
About the same time or just after I started Ladybug Crafts Ink Steven started up his own company called Poor Wee Soles. His idea was to supply a rolled up shoe to night clubs for girls to buy after a night of dancing so they didn't walk around town with bare feet because their feet were so sore from wearing skyscraper heels. He touted his idea around Scotland, England and Ireland. He sourced his shoes in India and China. He had samples coming in left right and centre. He's applied for and got funding from The Prince's Trust. He put together business plan after business plan and would ask me to read them. I thought he had gotten someone else to write them but he assured me he'd done it himself. I didn't see anything like it in his school work! Months and months down the line he decided to concentrate on the high street stores and through a contact of his dad got the meetings in London last week with 2 BIG high street stores (I won't name them just now in case I jinx it). They loved his idea, his shoes ... everything and would like to sell them in their stores. There is still a lot of work to be done but fingers crossed his shoes will be on sale sometime this year.
So when it came to making his birthday card I thought of this...
I knew he would appreciate it and I was right...he gave me one of his lopsided grins and said 'cool'. Any mom who gets a 'cool' knows she got it right!

I didn't have the right font so I googled curly fonts and found this one. It's the closest to his own logo with the 'o' curled to look like one of his shoes.

The shoe stamp is from a set I have from Stampin' Up! None of the shoes were flats so I masked the heel (Annette's idea :D) with scotch tape to keep it ink free, removed the tape then stamped it after I'd typed out and printed Poor Wee Soles.

Now here's my altered clipboard and all I can say is 'stick to what you know Kerry' lol. This is not how I pictured it to look. I had all these grand plans and I think I fell flat on my face.

I originally painted the top red to go with other paper but decided I wanted to use this paper instead which was more pink than red so painted over the red with black. I stuck the paper down and sanded the sides in a downward motion so as not to tear the paper. Didn't really matter because it did tear a bit. I wanted to use my new Martha Stewart border punch and I think that's quite nice. The ribbon isn't exactly what I wanted but I needed to blend the paper and the black paint somehow.

Here's a closeup of the paper. I've made 2 clipboards...the other one is in the cupboad with my water tank drying. No I didn't spill water on it but another great idea I had was to modge podge the board so the paper was sealed down and the torn edges wouldn't tear any more. I don't know if you can guess what happened when I modge podged it...I got a gazillion bubbles!!!! I'm hoping the heat from the tank will dry the bubbles flat :p
I think I'm gonna take a class in altering before I attempt something like this again. I wonder if I have enough time to order another couple of clipboards before I leave on Thursday?
Have a great weekend. I'll have a couple of samples for you tomorrow and Sunday...back to my comfort zone lol.

The pup's name is...

I'll let you in on a little secret...I can't make a decision to save myself! Poor Karen is always getting emails or texts from me..."Karen...what do you think about this?" "Do you think this is a good idea Karen?" I thought picking Bathtub Nikki's pups name would be a walk in the park thinking I'd only get a few suggestions...try like 24!!!!
I want to thank you all for your entries ....here are the suggestions:
Bella, Bubbles (x5), Sindy, Poppy, Rocky (Elaine obviously didn't see the pink bow in her hair!), Lucy, Sparkle, Maple, Sasha, Pumpkin, Toto, Gigi, Pucci (as in Gucci), Stella, Pebbles, Crystal, Buttercup, Charlotte, Victoria, Loofah, Fifi, Moet, Scruff or Scruffy (I thought she looked pretty goomed lol!)
So there you have them and I've got to pick ONE!! I'll tell you what I narrowed it down to:
Bella, Crystal, Buttercup, and Charlotte
And then I narrowed it down to:
Bella and Buttercup
And the winning name of Bathtub Nikki's pup is: BUTTERCUP suggested by Alicat181
Usually with me there's a story behind everything and this is no exception. I think I told you Nikki & Friends was named after my daughter Nicole. Welllllll believe it or not Nicole's boyfriend Ben calls her Buttercup!!!! So why wouldn't I call Nikki's pup Buttercup??? I thought it was a sign although it didn't click straight away when I read Alicat181's suggestions (all 6 of them!). So from now on Nikki's pup will be called Buttercup. Hope you all love the name as much as I do :D
I've got to do a bit of housework before I can get to those clipboards but I will post before the night is over.
Thanks again for everyone's suggestions. Get in touch with me Alicat181 to claim your stamp :D

Name that pup!

This is my 2nd attempt to keep this post at the top of the posts. Hopefully this time it will work!

A little competition came to me last night as I was posting Bathtub Nikki. Her little pup is so cute it needs a name and that's where you come it. Post a name in the comment box and on Friday 12th I'll pick the name and whoever suggested the name will win Bathtub Nikki and maybe something a little extra! If there are more than one entries for the same name that I like I'll pick a name out of the proverbial hat :D

Last but not least...

I finally managed to finish the last new Nikki card...Ironing Nikki. I always thought an image like this would be a hoot because I hate ironing and know a lot of people that do. But looking at Nikki I think I detect a wry smile...is that because she's almost finished...or because she's got an ironing board cover that sparkles lol???

Maybe I should start designing sparkly ironing board covers...it might make the job more fun. And notice that Ironing Nikki shops in the same store as Slobbing Nikki...the Uggish slippers!

And of course Nikki is nothing but glamorous...even when she's ironing :D

Here's the birthday boy and Nicole...awwwwwww...sisterly love :D

The best cake in the world...Marks & Spencer. There's only about a 2" piece left!!

I had a pretty productive day. Annette came over this morning with her Cricut to cut out some more branches. I decided I'd prefer them in green and I was right...they look much better. She also brought over her samples for me for Stitches...they're even nicer in real life. Thanks again Annette.

I also have to confess that I only made Steven's birthday card this afternoon!! I know...bad mom...but unless he reads this he won't know and shhhhhhh...don't tell him! I'll post it tomorrow...there's a bit of a story behind it.
I started altering my clipboards...I haven't a clue what I'm doing but I'll keep at it. Maybe I'll have something to show you tomorrow or Saturday.
Don't forget tomorrow's the deadline for posting your suggestion of a name for Bathtub Nikki's pup. I've already got a few favourites and it's going to be hard to choose.
Thanks for stopping by.
Catch ya later x

Happy Birthday Steven

What are mother's for? What is their purpose in life? Apart from cooking, cleaning, wiping snotty noses, kissing and cuddling, soothing? There are a gazillion purposes of a mother but one at the top of the list is embarrassing their children!!! So without further adieu here's my moment to embarrass my baby :D
This is Steven at 3 days old...he was a bit of a scrap weighing in at 7 lbs 5 oz. He had to be delivered 3 weeks early because our anti-bodies were attacking each other's and spent the first 3 days of his life under a phototherapy light.

This is him exactly 3 months later!!! He didn't waste time catching up lol.

And this is him today! Quite a change huh...and he's totally gorgeous (well, I am his mom) and nice with it. He's now 6' 5" and makes me feel incredibly short at 5' 8"!

I can't believe my baby is 19 today...where did the years go???
Have a wonderful day Steven...Love you loads xxxxx
